Alejandro Perez wins at Andalusian Regional Champs Rd4

Round 4 of the Andalusian Regional Championship was held at the Circuito La Jara track in Spain last weekend, attracting 40 entries for the single Nitro Buggy class. Kyosho’s Alejandro Perez would set the pace in the qualifiers to take the overall TQ and he also came out on top in the 45-minute A-main event, however the win didn’t come easy as the lead swapped a couple of times in the first half of the race until things had settled in. Some 25 minutes into the race Alejandro took over the lead from Agustin Illanes (Mugen) and from there he never looked back to take the win a lap in front of Agustin as Alberto Pelaez (HB Racing) came in 3rd to round out the podium result another lap down.

T-Works NB48 2.0 titanium turnbuckles & screw sets

Coming from T-Works and made for Tekno RC’s new NB48 2.0 1/8th nitro buggy are a titanium turnbuckle set as well as two screw kits. Starting with the turnbuckles, the set includes a total of seven spanners for the steering, camber and servo links that help to reduce weight while offering higher corrosion resistance than standard steel turnbuckles. Also included are 4mm and 5mm turnbuckle wrenches for easy building and setup. As for the screw sets, coming soon are a 140-piece UFO head titanium and a 156-piece gold-colour steel screw kit. The titanium set will greatly lower the overall weight of the buggy while adding corrosion resistance. The gold-coloured set mainly adds visual impact but the surface coating also prevents the parts from collecting rust over time.

International Offroad Carpet Championship – Report

The 2019 International Offroad Carpet Championship was held at 702 RC Raceway in Las Vegas, Nevada this past weekend. The event took place back-to-back with the International Indoor Championships the week before and adding some nice obstacles converted the indoor on-road track into a challenging off-road circuit. At this year’s IOCC, it seemed to be Broc Champlin’s weekend with his 4WD car throwing down some of the only 18-lap runs of the event. In the A1 of 4WD Mod Buggy, Broc would finish a full lap ahead of his brother Blake to take the first win. It wouldn’t be so easy in the second main. As the two were slicing and dicing through traffic, Blake had to the goods to make the pass on his brother if only his brother left an opening. Excellent defensive driving would earn Broc a second win and over all win.
