The opening round of the Tonisport Onroad Series North Division was held recently at the RC Team Nord Megadrom track in Hasloh near Hamburg. The race was held on a tight high-grip track which made things difficult especially for the Touring Modified drivers. In the end it was veteran racer, Uwe Reimers with the day’s win from a hard charing Sören Sparbier 2nd and Christian Stolze in 3rd.

RC Maker have introduced their new GeoCarbon wing mounting solution for touring cars. Developed for serious racers, it is designed to protect the wing, and wing strut in crashes, as well as provide maximum downforce and efficiency from the wing. The “L” shaped design can be switched to left and right to fit different bodies and wing positions, and offers rearward and outer wing chord support. Flexing of the wing in high speed straights and corners can lead to unpredictable handling. This is due to the wing folding back, but also, when the wing folds back the sides of the wing lift up to even further increase the detrimental impact. Our side facing supports minimise this lifting, which also in turn minimises flexing of the wing backwards. This creates an overall more stable wing in every direction! Also included is an adjustable carbon fibre support for under the bodyshell. This clamps the wing and body between two pieces of carbon, providing more support and stiffness. It can be shifted forward or backwards to suit different bodies and wing positions. The set is complete with two lightweight alloy screws and two lightweight alloy nuts to provide a lightweight, stable solution to mounting the wing.
The 2019 Australian Electric On-road Championships were held in Littlehampton, South Australia over the weekend. The top class, Open Modified, was spearheaded by Yokomo’s Simon Nicholson taking the overall TQ and win with 1-8-1 finishes while his Yokomo teammate, Antoni Caretti came in 2nd with 2-1-4 finishes. Jeffery Mackie (ARC) would complete the top 3 results tie on points with Jack McMillan while John Puse rounded out the top 5.

The opening round of the Xray Racing Series Slovenia was held at the Genius Ring track in Medeuzza, Italy. In the Touring 13.5T Stock class it was Nejc Mihelic with the overall TQ while the Formula class was top qualified by Matej Dobnikar. After the Touring A-mains it was still Nejc on the top spot, leaving behind Viktor Bolsec who came all the way from P6 on the grid. Bjan Miklozic would round out an all-Xray top 3 podium result.

BMT from Italy have introduced their new 016 GT Evo 1/8th scale nitro GT chassis kit. The car is based on the proven 016 GT and features refinements such as a new flex chassis, the Evo rear end conversion that as previously only available separately, it come with new short big bore shock absorbers as well as new shock stays and a redesigned front bulkhead brace. The parts will improve the car’s overall balance and performance and the kit is available from now on.
Sunpadow have introduced their all-new Competition Stock CS Platin series high-performance LiPo battery packs. Developed especially for stock class racing, the first in the line is a 6000mAh 7.4V battery that is made using newly developed highest-quality cells whose chemistry will reduce the overall weight of the battery while allowing for exceptional performance thanks to a very low internal resistance. At 282g the battery is about four percent lighter than the gold label pack and it measures 139x47x25.1mm.

VBC Racing have introduced their new Lightning10X235 235mm Pro10 pan car chassis kit. The latest evolution of the popular Lightning10 platform received updates in the front suspension and chassis area while several upgrades ensure improved durability. The front end is equipped with an industry-first fully adjustable 7075-T6 Active Lower Caster system for optimised steering response while the 7075-T6 aluminium main chassis and rear lower pod plate with machined silver edge details increased handling precision. A heat-treated, hardened rear axle shaft ensures true running and exceptional durability even when using high powered modified motors. Other features include the possibility to run bellcrank or direct steering setups, inline or transverse battery positions, wheelbase and track width adjustments as well as a wide range of tube damper, side link and side spring position adjustments to fine-tune the car’s behaviour. Serpent have announced the release of a newly developed optional part for the 989 1/8th scale car. The lightweight engine mounts are machined from high grade aluminium, and are 10.5g lighter than the original kit part. CNC machined heatsinks are added to help draw heat away from the engine, resulting in cooler running temperatures while a black surface coating ensures surface protection and good looks.
