Coming from Reflex Racing’s RSD brand and made for the new Serpent X20 mid-motor touring car is a new Quasi carbon fibre top deck. It offers an updated design for increased response, gear selection range and belt clearance while also offering improved durability compared to the stock version. The top deck is available as a 2.0mm variant for high traction surfaces and in a thinner 1.5mm variant for medium to medium-high traction conditions.
Tamiya have announced the soon release of their new brass suspension mounts for the TRF420 touring car. Available as 1-piece or 2-piece split A, E and XB variants, the brass mounts replace the standard and optional alloy suspension hangers, with the 1-piece mounts weighing in at 9.3g to 11.1g while the split mounts weigh in at 6.5g to 7.6g, depending on the variant. Adding weight in the front or rear of the car can help to fine-tune the weight balance and thus the car behaviour going in and coming out of the corner. Included with each suspension mount comes a set of suitable composite inserts to adjust toe, roll centre, and kick-up.
Coming from Pirani RC is their new clutch system suitable for virtually all of today’s 1/8th on-road scale cars and brands. The Italian-made clutch offers maximum precision and exceptional quality with the flywheel being considered to be the lightest in the market, increasing overall RPM of the engine. The clutch bell is available in three different variants, depending on the car brand, all being made of specially surface-treated super lightweight 7075-T6 aluminium.

The BRCA F1 Indoor National Championship made its way to the Sheffield RC Racing Club for round 2 of the series last weekend. With championship leader Ben Cosgrove unable to make the meeting it was going to be a round that would shake up the title race. The field were greeted with a fast flowing track that had lower grip levels than the previous round. Major setup changes would be needed to get the new Volante tyres working. With grip levels building up, the first round of qualifying was very open. Stephen Lander was the driver to handle the conditions best and the only one to break into 22 laps. James Greener and Michael Lee weren’t far behind though. Round 2 saw another increase in grip and allowed pre-race favourite Michael Lee to take control with a time that was over a lap faster. He continued this strong run in the third round to take the overall TQ. Stephen Lander had just managed to beat Graham to make sure he would be next in line on the grid. James Greener and Lee Carter would be the other hopefuls in 4th and 5th places respectively.

Last week we brought you a first image of what was believed to depict Awesomatix’s step into competitive 1/12th scale pan car racing and now things seem to materialise even more. Awesomatix team manager Max Mächler shared an image of his ride for the forthcoming IFMAR 1/12th scale World Championships in the UK – sans electronics but with wheels on, showing the extreme low centre of gravity design of the prototype chassis. No official details are available as of now but with the Worlds kicking off later this week official information and more images shouldn’t be too far off on the horizon.

Following his departure from long-time sponsors Serpent, Capricorn have announced the signing of 2016 IFMAR World and reigning EFRA 1/10th Nitro Touring European Champion, Dominic Greiner. With the 2020 IFMAR 200mm Worlds in mind Dominic will focus on 1/10th racing this season and he has the following to say about the deal:
I’m happy to announce that I will drive for Capricorn from now on. After 7 years with Serpent I felt it’s time for a change and Capricorn was the best choice for me. The cars showed great performances the last years and the brand will always improve. I’m looking forward for a good cooperation and more luck in my racing future. The 2019/20 season of the Urban Touring Series UTS concluded this past weekend at Urban RC’s rooftop raceway in downtown Singapore. A total of 41 entries across three classes made this one of the largest local races and was a fitting way to end the 4th season of UTS racing. Making it’s debut as an exhibition class was the 45+ Veterans Touring Car class, which attracted 13 entries, with several local legends returning to racing after being out of action for decades. First up was the premier Touring Car class of 17.5T Blinky which attracted a total of 25 entries. Setting the pace in qualifying was local ace, Nicholas Lee, who secured overall TQ with three perfect qualifying runs. Dominic Quek’s best opportunity for a TQ run was in Q1 where he started his qualifying with a blistering pace in the opening laps. However, a spin in the middle dog-leg in lap 4 meant Dominic had to settle for 2nd for the round and overall. PY Tang qualified 3rd, Esmail Apandi 4th, Sean Lee in 5th and making his first UTS A-Main was 13-year old, Zaccheus Lam. Bumping up from the B-final into the A-Main were Allan Tan and Sebastian Lee.

Yokomo have announced the return of multi-time French champion, Loic Jasmin, to their factory racing team. Loic previously raced for Yokomo a few years ago, where he scored multiple A-Main appearances in major events such as the ETS and Euros, and a career highlight of a sixth place finish at the 2012 World Championships. Set to debut his new BD10 chassis at next week’s GP3F event at his home club of MRC Longwy, Yokomo look forward to having Loic represent them on the track and support all our customers in France through 2020 and beyond.
