Pro-Line Avenger HP S3 belted street 1/8th buggy tyre

Coming from Pro-Line is their new Avenger HP belted street tyre for 1/8th scale buggies. The tyres were specifically made for 1/8th buggies that love to go fast and will not balloon or expand during use, helping the buggy to go straight and the driver to put the power down. The tyres are pre-mounted on black dish wheels to get drivers up and running immediately. They come in the soft S3 compound and the deep, aggressive grooves built into the tires will help to find grip on most on-road surfaces. Built to go fast, the tyres have a maximum speed rating that, if exceeded, could result in permanently damaging the internal belt. For the Avenger HP tires that is 100 mph or about 8,000 RPM.

BRCA LMP12 Nationals Rd1 – Report

Round one of the 2019/20 BRCA LMP12 Nationals took place in Eastbourne last weekend. A healthy entry of 60 drivers took part in the weekend’s racing which bodes well for the season ahead. The Eastbourne club has the largest track layout of the season and this year they laid a fast and flowing circuit which was extremely good to drive. As per previous years organisation of the event and the onsite catering kept racers happy all weekend. This year’s BRCA nationals will be even more important with many drivers preparing for the 2020 IFMAR World Championships being held in the UK in January 2020. Saturday is traditionally stock racing day and this year a new class running 17.5 turn motors with blinky speed controllers has been introduced. Alongside this is the 13.5 blinky class which is split into a F1 and F2 Championship.

Sawada & Kiyoyi complete OneTen double

Jin Sawada survived a big scare in the early stages of the 8-minute main final when the Japanese driver rolled his IF14, to come back and win the 2nd round of the OneTen series hosted by RCI V2 in Shanghai. Losing almost half a lap on the small technical track, the incident dropped the pole man down to 4th and left Rocket Zhang in the lead. Fighting his way back to the front, Jin managed to get back into the lead with two and a half minutes to go and would go on to extend his lead to over 5 seconds by the end of the race. Rocket would hold on for 2nd with Motor King completing the top 3. Discussing the incident, Sawada put it down to running with more power, thanks to the increased voltage, and lower than normal traction. Losing the back of the car slightly it clipped the small yellow curbs, sending his car into the wall and needing to be marshalled. Following the crash, he said his car was feeling really good and he could go about his recovery drive, which he admitted added some excitement to what was a rather processional race.

Infinity introduce new IF18 parts

Ahead of next week’s 1/8th Onroad World Championship in the USA, Infinity has released a number of new parts for their IF18. A new hard front arm made from a harder material than the standard kit version offers sharp steering, a characteristic preferred by expert drivers. Another update on a standard kit part is the hard rear bushing set. Its use increases the rigidity of the suspension and improves corner speed. For down stop adjustment in the front and rear lower arms, new M4x8 round top set screws are available. The tip has a smooth round shape, making it difficult to damage the contact area with the main chassis.
