Coming from T-Works and made for the Team Associated RC8B3.1 buggy is a graphite receiver box plate. The CNC-machined part does away with the standard composite part for a cleaner “factory” look. The part is usable with countersunk hardware and it is available now.
HB Racing’s popular Megabite 1/8th buggy tyre is now also available in the new medium soft Yellow rubber compound that fits between the super soft Pink compound and the soft Red rubber. The Yellow compound Megabite tyre is an ideal choice for spec racing, and are the official tyre used in the HB Race Days events. HB Megabite tyres are suitable for outdoor and indoor tracks with wet or damp surfaces and a clean racing line. Hundreds of short square pins arranged around the carcass provide traction in the corners and a central double-row of extra-wide treads give exceptional acceleration and stopping power. They come mounted on HB Racing’s Version 2 dish wheels that are 20 percent lighter than the original version, and HB Racing black closed cell inserts are pre-installed.

Marc Rheinard has taken the win in the opening round of triple A-mains here at PYC. The Infinity driver could take advantage of his new tires to work his way passed Akio and then Nicholas, with a very nice pass down the inside. Akio’s race would implode early on as battling with very low traction he hit the curb coming onto the straight and went into the wall. This would pop off his shock and he would retire. Behind the top 2, Jin Sawada and Naoki Akiyama completed the top 4 after a very nice battle following an earlier incident that had dropped both down the order. Marc summed up his win as ‘so far so good’ the multiple WC admitting that he was on ‘new tires while the others were all on old’. Once passed Akio, he closed on Nico and made an ‘ok pass’ and now with the others needing to use their 3rd set of tires for the 2nd main, Marc will decide when to use his 3rd and final set of handout Sweep tires.

FX Engines have introduced their new K301 EC engine, an upgraded variant of the K301. The European Champion K301 EC is based on the K301 engine and incorporates numerous improvements and refinements with focus on maximum bottom and top-end power. The 3-port engine features a ceramic main bearing and a DLC-coated, tungsten-balanced and silicone-filled crankshaft. The sleeve and piston set were specially selected and matched. The engine features 10-rib engine head and significant improvements were incorporated in the production and assembly processes, with new and even more precise quality inspection. All parts are individually measured and specially selected and matched to increase engine reliability, performance, and quality. Each engine includes a manufacturing certificate that records all important serial numbers and measurements so that, at any time, all details of the production – material batch, machine programs, responsible craftsperson, and production dates – can be traced back to the beginning.

HB Racing have released three sets of titanium turnbuckles for the D817T 1/8th scale truggy. Coming in M4x94mm, M5x85mm and M5x95mm specification, all are machined from high-quality titanium material for a lower overall weight compared to standard steel turnbuckles while offering improved looks and greater corrosion resistance. An evolution of the proven Energy formula, the Race Edition blend adds new oil formulas specially developed by the Modelix Racing R&D team. The result is a more efficient fuel for competition usage that provides increased power, better performance and engine stability, as well as a lower fuel consumption compared to the Energy formula. The fuel, that uses both synthetic and castor oils, is available in 5L jerrycans.

New from Amain Hobbies’ EcoPower brand is the Sling Shot SLV 13.5 Turn sensored brushless motor. The Sling Shot SLV bases in the standard Sling Shot series but improves on the original with a heavily vented, lightweight can to help reduce overall weight and improve heat dissipation. Also, the SLV has larger solder tabs to reduce resistance and help make it easier when soldering the wires on. Other features include a high torque 12.5mm sintered Neodymium rotor to deliver the torque needed for competitive 13.5 class racing.
