T-Works MBX8 front arm reinforcement inserts

T-Works have introduced a set of front arm reinforcement inserts for the Mugen MBX8 buggy. The anti-twist bushings inserts directly into the pivot shaft area of the front wishbones, reinforcing the area for less arm twist in grippy conditions while also ensuring longer arm and suspension pin life in the event of a crash. The black-coated parts sport white T-Works logos and they come in pairs.

Aigoin & Medjoubi win at 3rd annual Fun Race

The French Mini Bolid’ Club Pertuisien track held the third edition of its Fun Race this past weekend. Over the year the season opening race has become an integral part in the race programme of many French top pilots and this year was no exception. In the 1/8th Nitro Buggy class, attracting over 70 entries, it was Tom Robin with the overall TQ from Jerome Aigoin and Eliot Marcon, however in the super-tight 20-minute A-main final it was Yannick Aigoin with the win a lap in front of Patrick Auvient Jr. Rayan Medjoubi came in 3rd only some five seconds behind. Eliot Marcon and Maxime Noble would round out the top 5 only a lap behind the leader.

7075.it Air Killer+ battery-powered vacuum pump

Coming from 7075.it is the Air Killer+, a battery-powered variant of their popular Air Killer shock and differential vacuum pump system. Constructed from high-quality aluminium and coming in a 88mm tall 1/10th on-road and 156mm tall 1/8th and 1/10th off-road variant, the devices are powered by a CR123 battery, making them independent from any other power source which makes for greater versatility and less wire clutter on the pit table. The off-road variant includes a flippable insert for both 1/10th and 1/8th off-road shocks and it is also usable for forcing traction compounds into 1/12th scale tyres using the vacuum. The Air Killer+ comes including the popular Monaco RC bag for convenient storage and transportation.

Tyler Hooks doubles at RC Pro Series North Division Rd1

Round 1 of the RC Pro Series North Division was held at Shaws RC Track in Ardmore, Oklahoma this past weekend. In the Pro Nitro Buggy category it was Tekno RC’s Tyler Hooks with the TQ after the triple qualifiers and he would also come out on top after the 45-minute A-main event, leaving behind Mugen racer, Hunter LaFleur in 2nd, a lap down while Tekno RC’s Aaron Royston completed the top 3 another lap down. Over in the Pro E-Buggy class it was again Tyler Hooks with the overall TQ and he would also bring home the win as Charles Day (Team Associated) and Quincy Hughes completed the top 3 results.

T-Works D819 aluminium centre driveshafts

Coming from T-Works and made for the new HB Racing D819 1/8th nitro buggy are lightweight aluminium centre driveshafts. The dogbones are machined from high-quality 7075-T6 aluminium and they come black anodised for wear and laser-engraved for easy identification. Using the parts will reduce the drivetrain’s rotational mass for quicker spool-up and acceleration. The 85mm front and 118mm rear shaft are available separately or as 2-piece combo package.

Juan Carlos Canas wins at Andalusian regionals Rd2

The second round of the Andalusian regional championships was held at the Circuito de Automodelismo Luis Chacon track this past weekend. SWorkz’s Juan Carlos Canas swept both the triple qualifiers and also the 45-minute A-main final, only swapping positions with Mugen’s Jose Miguel Sanchez a couple of times around the 10-minute mark of the race. Ultimately Juan would bring home the win with a 2-laps margin from Jose Miguel in 2nd as Kyosho’s Alejandro Perez would round out the top 3 result.

Willspeed RF2 XB2 conversion kit

Willspeed have introduced their new RF2 chassis and gearbox conversion kit for the popular Xray XB2 2WD buggy. The conversion platform was designed and manufactured by engineers and racers alike to further up the performance of the car. The kit features an aircraft grade billet aluminium tub style chassis for a lightweight, low COG and strong platform with a single-piece no-tweak design. The chassis comes individually serial numbered with name engraving available. The ultra low profile aircraft grade aluminium 5-gear transmission housing ensures optimised weight distribution with lowered idlers, lowered layshaft and unique no tower “A” frame design, hugely lowering COG. Other aircraft grade billet aluminium parts include the motor mount with low COG design, and the rear shock tower with internal undercut keyway which interlocks with transmission housing for super solid tower mounting. Pocketed features key shock standoffs and turnbuckle locknuts for quick easy tuning. The ultra lightweight platform weighs in race ready with full size shorty LiPo, full size servo and Schumacher tires at approximately 1495g. Included with the conversion comes the Willspeed RF2 Falcon bodyshell.
