Mark Green recently signed a contract extension with Serpent for the 2014 season. The multi-times champion will continue to race Serpent’s 1/8th and 1/10th nitro cars during his 2014 campaign that will see races such as the EFRA Euros, 1/10th Worlds and the Euro Nitro Series. Mark will also run the S411 electric touring car at selected national events. …past Robin D’Hondt at the start. After the fuel stops had unravelled, Jilles emerged in the lead ahead of Mark and Kyle. With some fast pit stopping, Kyle managed to get to the front over the next ten minutes. Kyle was first into stop for tyres 20 minutes in and Mark Green, Jilles managed to last a few more laps than Mark and this ultimately handed him the lead. Posting a time of 21 laps in 314.18 seconds, Green again proved that the track was too slow. …about building a big lead over Green and Wood. The battle for 4th was between Frost/North and King with Thurston keeping all them on the pace. The first casualty however was Dransfield who had engine problems before the start and had to change the engine. He then later rejoined the race but the gap was too big and eventually finished last. Upfront Green hit a back marker and had to visit the pits for body repairs which allowed Wood to take over second. …all switching places behind him. By Lap 17 the top 3 were looking pretty stable with Alex leading from Mark and John. Joe moved back into 3rd position on Lap 22 pushing John out of the top 3. …just failing to complete his 19th lap due to running out of fuel. Tim Wood finished a round and record a mid 18 lapper to put him in the mix. In round 4 the pace the slower but improvements for Thurston guaranteed a main final position. …decided to spray the track with Tornado track solution to provide more grip and this was evident during the afternoon session as drivers were starting to post 14.5 second lap times. When the European drivers arrived, the testing got really serious with the aim to set down a marker early on for the rest of the competition to work towards.
