MRCP Arena Winter Championship Rd1 – Report

The opening round of the 6-race MRCP Arena Winter Championship was held at the newly designed MRCP Arena indoor race track in Dagmersellen, Switzerland. The event was held in the three categories of Touring ProStock, Formula and Race Truck and in ProStock it was Norwegian driver Andreas Daving taking the win in front of Nuno Huber and Boris Siladi. It was a very strong and clear win for Andreas but behind there was nothing decided until final A-main.

Muchmore Fleta M8 V2 brushless speed controller

Muchmore have introduced their new 180A-rated Fleta M8 V2 brushless speed controller for 1/8th scale applications. Usable with up to 6S LiPo input the ESC supports 2-pole, 4-pole and 6-pole motors, it features a 6V/7.2V programmable 8A BEC system and it measures 50x47x37mm while weighing in at 156g. The sensored speed also utilises a built-in on/off switch and an integrated programming port.

Infinity IF14 alloy spring cups & low friction belt

Coming from Creation Model are two new optional parts for the Infinity IF14 electric touring car. The first of the new releases are aluminium shock spring retaining collars. Made of precision machined aluminium, and featuring a black-anodised finish, they are extremely light and help the shock absorber and the shock spring work more efficiently. They are supplied in a set of four.

Sunday Race Cup Rd4 – Report

The fourth round of this year’s Sunday Race Cup was held at the HSH race tracks in Dintikon, Switzerland. 22 drivers in three categories signed in, making for good racing in perfect weather conditions. In Race Truck it was a clear win for Tobias Kunz in front of veteran racer, Luigi Manzo and Micha Kühne. Tobias had a perfect day with the TQ and wins in all three A-mains. Micha Kühne looked like he would wrap up the runner-up spot, however a crash in the final A-main meant that Luigi hold the upper hand to finish 2nd overall.

Power HD M9 high-voltage mid-size servo

Coming from Power HD is their new M9 mid-size high-voltage servo for 1/12th scale applications. It features an all-aluminium heatsink case, coreless motor, copper and titanium gears and it is capable of up to 9kg-cm of torque and a speed of down to 0.07s. The servo measures 35×15.1×29.5mm, weighs in at 35g and it will hit stores soon.

T-Works T4’19 ball ends & lightweight screw sets

T-Works have introduced a range of ball end and screw sets for Xray’s new T4’19 touring car. The 22-piece sets are available as titanium-nitride coated, hard-coated aluminium or polished titanium set to achieve either a lower weight or improved wear resistance while also adding some visual impact. Also new are several screw kits including 109-piece UFO head titanium, 104-piece orange aluminium, 109-piece UFO head orange aluminium, 109-piece aluminium and titanium as well as 109-piece UFO head aluminium and titanium sets. All reduce the car’s overall weight compared to using the stock steel screws with the alloy and mixed alloy sets achieving the greatest weight savings.

Kyosho Mini-Z MR-03Evo chassis sets

Kyosho have announced the soon release of their new Mini-Z MR-03Evo chassis sets. The Evo kits base on the proven MR-03VE Pro chassis, however the biggest news is the use of a separate receiver unit that allows to utilise a multitude of different brand transmitters such as KO Propo’s EX-2 and EX-RR, Futaba’s 7PX and 7XC as well as Kyosho’s own KT-18, EX-6 or KT-531P to name just a few. The receiver unit is easily interchangeable, sitting on top of the chassis. Other new features include an 11.2-times faster CPU unit for increased steering feeling and a 100-times faster responding ESC unit for best possible throttle control. The ESC is now also adjustable using the I.C.S. manager in order to allow the use of brushed motors with the same speed controller. The Evo chassis are available as wide track W-MM set including a 12000kV brushless motor and also as narrow track N-MM2 variant with a 5600kV brushless motor. Both come equipped with ball bearings and the ball diff set II.
