WRC GTX 1.4 moulded spur gears

WRC Racing have introduced a new series of injection-moulded spur gears for the GTX 1.4 1/8th on-road car. The gears are precision moulded from a special composite material that ensures exceptional durability, minimal wear and improved strength, minimising the chances of stripping a gear. In addition the lightened design greatly reduces the overall weight for reduced rotational mass. A refined moulded process ensures that the gears run as true as possible. They are available as 56T to 62T 1st and 2nd gears.

Leonardo Varga crowned Austrian 200mm Champion

Last weekend the third round of the Austrian IC Championship took place at the MAC Amstetten club in hot summer temperatures of around 35°C. In the 1/10 Nitro class everything went according to plan for Gerhard Kandelhart, taking TQ honours followed by Leonardo Varga, Christoph Rohrmoser and Franz Engel in 4th place (all Shepherd). The final saw a clean start with everyone trying to avoid contact and the first four drivers were able to break away from the field quite quickly. At the first stop for fuel, Leonardo pitted a lap later and could take over the lead with Gerhard loosing time coming in and out of the pits with some traffic finally ended in a crash and an engine flame-out. Gerhard fought his way back to 2nd place through, but eventually risked too much and went out of fuel two laps before the end. Thus Leonardo Varga took the lead and the race wing and secured himself a maiden Austrian Championship title. The other podium spots were taken by Franz Engel and Gerhard Kandelhart.

Protoform V2 adjustable formula front wing

Protoform’s new V2 formula front wing is a 3-way adjustable solution for all popular 1/10th scale formula pan cars. The adjustability ensures the wing to suit any condition a track throws at the driver: a low-downforce option, a medium downforce with 1-element add-on winglet, or a high-downforce, 2-element add-on winglet for maximum steering feel. The tall wing endplates enhance straight-line stability and side-bite in long sweepers. Inspired by popular American open-wheel cars from the late 1990s, Protoform also incorporated additional ground clearance at the outer extremities, especially important on U.S.-style high-grip carpet. A wide, flat section in the middle of the wing provides a perfect mating surface for any formula body. The wings are made from sleek, matte-finished, ultra-durable nylon and will fit most popular formula cars on the market such as Xray, Team Associated, Tamiya and Roche. They are available in Black colour now, with a white option coming soon.

Protoform Ford GT 190mm USGT body shell

Protoform have introduced their long-awaited Ford GT 190mm body shell for the USGT class. From the ultra-low stance, to the teardrop-shaped cockpit, to the never-before-seen b-pillar “side wings”, the Ford GT is the ultimate expression of form following function. Protoform has captured every detail of this mid-engine sports car that captured GT class wins at the 2016 24h of Le Mans and back-to-back 24h of Daytona in 2017 and 2018. The officially-licensed body fits 1/10th scale 190mm touring cars, with extra clearances built-in to fit over the front and rear shock towers. The distinctive side wings are add-on pieces that can be secured with the included hardware, shoo-goo or high-strength double-sided tape. New lighter-weight material lowers the centre of gravity of the USGT car, improving responsiveness. Each body also includes injection moulded nylon wing struts, a unique rear wing, decal sheet, window masks, and overspray film.
