Xray Racing Series Austria – Announcement

The Xray Racing Series Austria will take place on the weekend of the 23rd of July at the MRC Wiener Neustradt track in Vienna. Held in Modified, Pro Stock and Formula classes the event will see a full day of practice, including the famous floodlight practice, on Saturday with Sunday being race day. Fenix have introduced their new HotStock 21.5T fixed timing brushless stock motor. Developed with fair and affordable club racing in mind, the European F1 Masters and IDFM series legal motor features a blue anodised aluminium heatsink can and heavy duty solder tabs and it is available now.

Muchmore Fleta ZX V2 Type-ER brushless motor

Following the introduction of the Fleta ZX V2 Modified and Fleta ZX V2 Sting Stock outlaw brushless motors Muchmore now also released information on the IFMAR, ROAR and EFRA legal Type-ER motor. It makes use of the same Flow-Max 2 aluminium can that improves cooling efficiency by about 15 percent compared to Muchmore’s former motors while the new high-power stator design, without separate insulator, further increases cooling while also lowering the weight at the same time. Other features include super low resistance copper windings, heavy-duty silver-plated solder tabs and a precision-balanced Neodymium high-temperature rotor. The ER Spec stock motor is available in 10.5T to 25.5T winding variants.

BRCA 1/8th Circuit National Series Rd4 – Report

Round four of the BRCA 1/8th Circuit National Series was held at the famous Mendip circuit near Weston Super Mare. It is a circuit famous for its Diggers dip before the main straight and it has seen many big names in the RC world race here down the years, including some of Europe’s Elite in the 90s. Race day was sunny and tyre wear was extremely high with the track surface very abrasive. Top international racer Mark Green was one noticeable absentee from the top heat and meant it would be a closer affair between the top nitro guys. In total, around fifty drivers were competing across the two classes with the electric class now not far off being as popular as nitro.

Novarossi Mantra .21 square stroke engine

Novarossi keep adding more new nitro engine to their range with the latest one being the all-new Mantra .21 square stroke off-road engine. It features a 16.42mm square stroke design, 14mm crankshaft, and a new piston and 4-port liner combination. The crankshaft is manufactured with a larger bore intake to increase mixture flow while the rear cover offers a steel plate for reduced conrod friction while the overall shape improves filling by reducing dead spaces. As a result the engine will offer an elastic throttle and linear power feel with increased torque in the mid to high RPM range and very low fuel consumption.

Nitro-West-Masters Rd3 – Report

Round 3 of the popular Nitro-West-Masters took place at the Dueren track near Aachen with a total of 51 entries. Perfect weather conditions – only on Sunday morning a few rain drops came down during the first heat – and the 232 metre track with its fluent layout and high grip level set the stage for some spectacular racing on Sunday. In the premier 1/8th Open class, Tobias Hepp captured the pole position as he did at round 1 at Hamm. Other direct qualifiers included ARC fellow Philipp Roemer and the two Mugen drivers Christian Wurst and Daniel Toennessen.

Novarossi Mito 35 GT5/17 .21 nitro engine

Novarossi have introduced their new Mitro 35 GT5/17 .21 nitro engine. The updated powerplant features a new sleeve with five transfer ports and exhaust booster ports. The special shape and positioning improve internal fluid dynamics to maximise performance while the crankshaft also received an update to increase mixture flow and reduce internal turbulences. Crankshaft balancing is carried out using tungsten inserts and a silicone inlay further enhance acceleration. Included with the package is also an updated 3-needle carburettor for improved idling and also quicker return to lower RPM.

3DRC Project 4X roll centre plates & shock stand

German brand 3DRC have introduced a set of roll centre plates for the Serpent Project 4X touring car as well as a convenient shock stand for the same kit. Starting with the roll centre plates, the parts are a direct replacement for the standard 3mm roll centre shims with the 1-piece design being much easier and quicker to install. The 3-D-printed part also increased overall bulkhead stiffness and it is available as 2-piece set for the front and the rear of the car and in black or orange colour.
