2017 Belgian SCT Cup Rd5 – Report

Round 5 of the 2017 Belgian SCR Cup was traditionally held on the iconic MBV Kampenhout track. The flawless organisation allowed to run four instead of the usual three qualifiers, giving the drivers more opportunities to improve their lap times, on the very technical and demanding track that requires a good rhythm. The qualifiers started on a wet track but it dried up quickly with the nice and sunny weather making for good but not too high grip levels all day long. In Pro2 qualifying, Géry Ledocq (Kyosho) was a class of his own and he easily secured the TQ…

Belgian SCT Cup Rd5 – Report

Round five of the Belgian SCT Cup was hosted by the MBV Kampenhout club on a slightly modified layout that made the superb astroturf track even better. Once again rain affected the race but thanks to the well-drained track the surfaces dried up quickly, allowing to carry on with the event but some of the qualifiers were mixed up a bit due to the same rounds being held both under wet and dry conditions. This was in particular the case in the opening round of the Pro2 qualification with the last heat running under rainy conditions. Frederic De Conchy (TLR),…

German Mugen driver Tobias Hepp was the only driver who was able to stay in touch with Gunter but at around halfway into the final Tobias’ engine failed. This allowed Serpent driver Nico Vanwynckel, coming from 3rd, to move up to 2nd. Tim Vogels, 4th after the qualification, completed the podium…
