The Notts & Derby Off-Road club will host the HPI Challenge & Bash Party on Saturday, 2nd of August. Meant to be a fun and laid-back “run what you brung” meeting for HPI vehicle owners, the race will see Baja, Buggy, Truggy, 2WD Truck, Monster Truck and WR8 racing. The rules are simply and all needed information can be found in HPI’s event flyer that you can download here (PDF file).
The 2nd round of the South German 1/8th off-road regionals, as part of the qualification towards the nationals later this Summer, was run at the MSC Osterhofen in Bavaria. In the 1/8th E-Buggy class SWorkz’ Stefan Scheuenplug took the win in the final while Serpent’s young Micha Widmeier grabbed the runner-up spot. Kyosho driver Tobias Weinmann completed the podium in 3rd position.

The 5th round of the 2014 JBRL Electric Series took place at Controlled Chaos Raceway in Palmdale on June 14th. As usual, attendance was good and the level of competition was very high. In the 1/8th E-Buggy class Tekno’s Rudy Rico started from 2nd into the final and managed to grab the win in front of Ryan Dunford (TLR) and Scott Wolf (Mugen). In the Pro4 Short Course class Rudy put his Tekno truck on top of the time sheets after qualifying and he would also bring home the win in the final in front of the TLR duo of Ryan Dunford (TLR) and David Jenson (TLR).

This weekend was round 2 of the Spanish National Series, held at the CARBI track in Bilbao, home of the 2009 European Championships. The club have changed a few features of the track since the previous years event, but it was still a very challenging and high grip circuit. Saturday would see a day of practice, with 2 controlled rounds late in the day to seed the heats for the following day. With just 2WD running, Sunday would have 5 rounds of qualifying and 3 finals for all. The weather report threatened for rain on Sunday afternoon, but it never came, the sun and dry weather staying for the whole weekend.

Zen Racing introduce this adjustable front cross brace for 1/12th scale pan cars. Helping with front end stability the adjustable brace allows infinite adjustment of the top arm length and with the use of O-rings the cross loads can be dampened.

The Italian Electric Touring Car nationals was held last weekend at the RME Lamberto Collari circuit in Cassino. The Modified class was won by Yokomo driver Nicola Marrone who left Alessandro Brunelli (Xray) and Alessio Menicucci (Xray) behind.

JConcepts introduce the Silencer bodyshell for mid motor converted Kyosho RB6 buggies. Sporting a totally different design compared to the stock Kyosho body, the Silencer is of a mild cab forward design with a cockpit shark fin, a dual channelling rear escape, clipped side pods with extended runners and an overall sleeker appearance. Included with the clear body come two Hi-Clearance rear wings, window masks and a small decal sheet.
