The Indoor Arena Kostendorf near Salzburg in Austria played host to round 2 of the Ruddog Cup last weekend. The event was held in several electric off-road and on-road classes and in the 2WD and 4WD Modified Buggy classes it was Stefan Pfeifhofer who brought home the silverware.

The fourth round of the Worksop Series, there was a great entry once again which saw 15 heats of drivers, this was across the three classes of 2WD, 4WD and a vintage buggy class. As always it was round by round qualifying as the racing format, with the best two results from four rounds of qualifying counting towards the final position. Qualifying in 2WD was very close between three drivers, Eugene Galley, James Helliwell and Mitchell Fiddling. However it was Schumacher’s Mitchell Fiddling who took TQ to line up on pole. In 4WD it was James Helliwell who would TQ three out of the four rounds to line up on pole. In the Vintage class it was Mark Hazelden who would line up on pole.
The sixth annual Christmas Cup was held in Kiev, Ukraine last weekend on a temporary carpet track at the Karavan Megastores, one of the largest shopping centers of the city. Close to 100 entries foe the two main and two support classes made for competitive racing. The 1/10 2WD Modified Buggy class opened the event. On the challenging but very flowing track, four rounds of qualifiers were held with SWorkz’s Jörg Miikael Tiit taking the Top Qualifier spot, followed by the Team Associated duo of Maryan Beresh and Dmitro Chub.

Pro-Line have announced the signing of Mark and Ryan Pavidis to their factory team. The name Pavidis and Pro-Line are synonymous with a long history of winning titles. Mark has won three World Titles spread across 1/8 buggy, 1/10 4WD off-road, 1/10 nitro touring car as well as numerous national championships while being hooked up by Pro-Line. Mark was introduced to the hobby with his father in the mid 1980’s and now Mark is sharing his racing craft with his son Ryan who is already giving the competition fits. For the 2018 racing season, the father and son combo are choosing Pro-Line to continue their winning ways.

A round of the US Top Notch Tour was held at Revelation Raceway recently and it was Daniel Blalock (Xray) with the win in the Intermediate Nitro Buggy class. David Carrasco Jr. (HB Racing) came in 2nd from 3rd placed TLR driver David Delgado.

Round four of the Xray Racing Series Slovakia was held at the Hudy Racing Arena in Trencin. The weekend kicked off with free practice on Friday followed by the qualifiers and finals on Saturday. In the 2WD Buggy class Adam Izsay took a popular TQ from Max Gotzl 2nd and Martin Bayer 3rd. In the opening A-main Adam and Max were able to quickly pull away after Martin had some bad luck. Despite his best tries, Max was not able to challenge Adam as Gotzl made a small mistake which cost him the win.
The JConcepts Super Cup Championship Series has long been the premiere 1/10th off-road racing series in Florida and 2018 marks the 10th year anniversary of this glorious series. Like many years in the past, round 1 of the Spring Super Cup race serves double duty as it kicks off the 2018 racing season and also serves as the award ceremony and banquet event for the 2017 season crowning the top 5’s for both the 2017 Spring and Fall Super Cup Seasons along with many other awards and achievements. Saturday was the start of round 1 of the Spring Super Cup Championship Series hosted by Beachline Raceway. A few jumps were fixed to allow for better take offs and landings making it more consistent for racers to put down fast laps on the grippy surface. With the entry count nearing 240 total entries, the excitement of the Super Cup was definitely in the air.

Last weekend the third annual Stadium Nitro Shootout was held in conjunction with Adelanto Grand Prix motocross event. The race had nearly 120 entries including Adam Drake, Cody King, Joseph Quagraine, Colin Herzig, Richard Saxton, and Mark Pavidis. Adam Drake was the top qualifier in both rounds of Nitro Buggy and Nitro Truck and he went on to win both finals. Colin Herzig finished 2nd and Joseph Quagraine came in 3rd in Nitro Buggy.
