The guys from Warehouse 3 Indoor R/C and Hobby shop in Peoria Arizona have gotten touch to promote the Pro-Line Arizona Indoor Champs which they are running at their new facility from the 16th to the 18th of August. The race is open to all 1/10th scale electric classes with bump ups and 10 minute A-mains. More details on the event and signup information can be found here.
Round 4 of the 2013 JBRL Series headed to the high desert community of Palmdale, California. After winning round one, Jimmy Barnett sought to return to the top step of the podium on the smooth blue-groove surface at Controlled Chaos Raceway. With two rounds of qualifying completed in the 4wd modified class, Barnett was on top of the time sheets and would start the single six-minute A Main from the pole. Taking full advantage of his grid position, Jimmy posted the win after a very close race that saw the top three drivers cross the line within two seconds. Jimmy’s victory marks the fourth straight win for the Reedy team and gives him a commanding point lead into round five at West Coast R/C.

This past weekend the fourth round of the Belgian Electric offroad National championship was held in Merchtem near Brussels. In the 2wd class there was hard battle between Nico Risser (Kyosho RB6), Wesley Van Elmond (TLR22) and Bruno “Elvo” Heremans with the new Xfactory X6 Cubed. After missed victory in the first main due to a mistake in the last lap Nico Risser recovered to win the final two mains after an incredible battle with Wesley and Elvo. With the overall win sewn up Nicolas keeps his lead in the championship. In the 4WD class there was a great victory by David Pauwels (Xray XB4) after a good fight with team mate Fred Fontaine (Xray XB4) in front of Eric Michiels (Serpent) who finised 3rd.
The good guys at Flowood RC Indoor Park dropped us a mail to tell us about their biggest and most important race of the year for FRC, the third Annual Bring The Heat race, which will run from July 19-21. Recently crowned National Champion Adam Drake will be returning for his third year to defend his crown at FRC and Ronda Drake will also be there and they have some surprise racers attending this year that have not been to FRC before. FRC are taking the first 350 paid entries so if you have not signed up or paid go to www.rcsignup.com and do so now. This past weekend Thunder Alley hosted the final round of the Grass Roots Racing Series attracting nearly 150 entries. The track was hard packed and very technical. Cody King TQ’d round one of buggy and newly crowned National Champion Adam Drake took the second round, but wasn’t able to beat Cody’s time from round one. In the final Cody and Adam had a great battle and were never more than a few seconds apart until the end when Cody ran out of fuel with two laps to go. Drake took the win by a lap over Matt Schreffler with Cody King holding on for third. Adam used Pro-Line M3 Holeshot 2.0’s in M3 compound for qualifying and the twenty minute final.

HPI Racing Europe have been in contact to tell is that the 4th of August and the 28th of September mark the return of the HPI Challenge, with on and offroad racing classes organized at two of the country’s leading venues. The 4th of August marks the return of the HPI Challenge for all on-road racers and HPI touring car kit owners with racing taking place at the Cotswolds Model car club in Gloucestershire. Every racer will get a complete set (2 pairs) of top-quality HPI Challenge racing slick tyres, an HPI T-shirt and a HPI goodie bag with lots of HPI freebies inside. The 28th of September is the day for off-road HPI kit owners, with the event organised at the wonderful Coventry Model Car Club. Round 3 of the Swiss electric offroad nationals were run last weekend in Obernau (Switzerland) on a multi-surface track combining Astroturf, carpet and wood. On Saturday Associated/Reedy driver Patrick Hofer started showing his domination in the 4wd practice and was a lap ahead of 2nd in qualifying, taking the TQ spot in the 4wd class. In 2wd he placed his B4.2 2nd. During the finals it started to rain so some drivers saw a chance for the win but Patrick’s B44.2 seemed unbeatable on the slippy track and so he won both finals and secured the overall win in 4wd modified ahead of Peter Forster (Yokomo) in 2nd and Patrick Vogt (Durango) in 3rd. In 2wd modified he finished 2nd.

The 2nd round of Olomouc cup took place last Saturday and Kaja Novotny gave this report. “Again it was a rainy morning and the start of the race was delayed. Practice was possible but nearly nobody wanted to drive their car on the wet astroturf, so my first qualification was my first drive on the track. After qualifications in 4wd I took TQ with a 2-1-1 while in 2wd, with issues with my speed controller, finished sixth with a 3-2-5. TQ in 2wd went to local driver Tomas Koudelka with his DEX210. For the 2WD finals we did some changes, put some weights on the rear and finished second overall with a 3-2-2. Tomas Koudelka didn’t give anybody a chance and won all three finals with the new RDRP +11mm chassis. In 4wd I finished first in all three finals with Marek Schiller (DEX410) second and Tomas Koudelka (DEX410) third overall on the podium.
