Lex Tyler wins at High Rollers race

702 RC Raceway of Las Vegas, Nevada hosted the High Rollers indoor on-road race this past weekend. The event attracted over 75 entries and in Touring Modified it was Xray’s Lex Tyler with the overall TQ and also the wins in A1 and A2. Taking the title early allowed him to sit out A3 which was won by young Yokomo driver, Jacob Cruz who cemented his runner-up position from Katunyu Chom-im in 3rd.

Billy Fletcher wins at King Of Clubs opener

Round 1 of the Kings Of Clubs series was held at the West London Racing Centre in the UK this past weekend. In the Touring 17.5T Blinky class it was Billy Fletcher with the win and a new track record, leaving behind Ben Cane in 2nd, a lap down. Mark Trinder would come in 3rd, just 0.05 seconds behind Ben.

Zayas & Soto win at Caribbean On-Road Nats

The 2020 Caribbean On-Road Nationals were recently held in Barceloneta, Puerto Rico. In the Nitro GT class it was Samuel Zayas with the overall TQ and he also came out on top in the A-main, leaving behind Raymond M. Soto in 2nd and Fernando Mendez in 3rd, making it an all-IGT8 top 3. Over in GTE it was Raymond M. Soto with the TQ and win as his fellow IGT8 racers Carlie Lopez and Gabriel Velez completed the top 3 result.

Jones, Block & Hulse win at Heart of America Series Rd3

Lincoln in Nebraska played host to round 3 of the Heart Of America Series last weekend. The event was held in 1/8th Open, 1/8th GT and Nitro Sedan classes an in 1/8th Open it was Eric Jones with the overall TQ and also the win in the 30-minute A-main event. Sal Diazo came in 2nd overall, some three laps behind as Robert Ronas rounded out the top 3, another four laps down. In the Masters ranking it was Bob Block with the win from O.V. Opheim while TQ Larry Barnett had to settle for 3rd overall.

Isaakidis & Maricholas win Greek EP Touring titles

The 2020 Greek Electric Touring Car Championship was held at the Fanatix Racing Track in Athens last weekend, attracting more than 30 drivers to compete in the two Modified and Stock racing classes. In the Touring Modified category it was Vaggelis Papachristos (Xray) who took the pole position after winning twi out of four qualifying rounds in front of Dimitris Mitropoulos (Xray) and Tasos Batas (Xray) who won a single qualifying round each. However in the finals, it was Filippos Isaakidis (Tamiya) who drove superbly and from 6th on the grid he was able to win the first two A-main legs, handing him his fourth Greek National Championship in the Modified category. Christos Vasilopoulos (Xray) who had really good pace throughout the race finished second in front of Dimitris Ioannidis (Xray) who rounded out the podium.

Zak Smith TQs & wins at Bedworth Summer Series

The Bedworth Radio Controlled Car Club in Nuneaton, UK held a round of their Summer Series last weekend and it was Schumacher’s Zak Smith with the TQ and win in the Touring Modified class. Awesomatix driver, Chris Grainger came in 2nd overall from Schumacher’s Andy Murray in 3rd. Matt White came in 4th, Dale Burr completed the top 5 result.

Patrick Schäfer joins Xtreme Aerodynamics

Xtreme Aerodynamics are busy adding more top-level pilots to their racing team with the latest being Germany’s Patrick Schäfer. Owner of Shepherd Micro Racing, the 2019 IFMAR Worlds semi-finalist will deck out his 1/8th and 1/10th scale Shepherd nitro on-road rides using Xtreme Aerodynamics’ popular body shells for the remainder of the 2020 and the full 2021 season.

Masami Hirosaka releases his autobiography

Record IFMAR World and JMRCA Japanese National Champion, Masami Hirosaka has just released the first three parts of a multi-title autobiography about his racing life. One of the most well-known professional RC car racers of all times, Masami is a role model for decades of racers that can now get a pretty detailed idea of what Masami’s racing life was all about. Part 1 to 3 of the biography is available on Amazon in Japanese language with part 1 being made public in English language now also. The English language parts 2 and 3 are currently in production with Masami already working on parts 4 to 6 as we type.
