Schumacher BTCC finale – Report

The final round for 2017 of the Schumacher BTCC took place this weekend at the popular Cotswolds circuit. The drivers had to contend with incredibly mixed and difficult track conditions throughout the day as the UK weather is definitely in Autumn mode. Soren Boy Holst wins at Danish EP On-road finale

The final round of the Danish Electric On-road Championship was held in Odense over the weekend. Saturday’s practice was pretty much washed away and only a handful of drivers tried to tackle the track with prepped cars. Sunday then started off with two round of controlled practice but unfortunately the track was still moist so track activity would be limited. With this being the championship decider Mike Gosvig and Kevin Nielsen were both keen to score maximum points, as they went even into the final round, but it was veteran racer Soren Boy Holst, who only has some sort of a practice season in 2017 but already won the Glostrup round of the nationals and the Hot Race Summer Cup, who stamped his authority with his VBC Racing car by taking the pole position for the triple A-mains. His TQ also meant the oh so important extra point was taken away from the championship contenders.

IFMAR 1/8th Nitro Onroad World Champs 2017 – Preview

The 1/8th Nitro Onroad World Championships has a certain special feel to it. As the oldest class in RC racing, the ‘formula one’ of our sport is a highly competitive class and the coveted title will be awarded for the twenty first time next week. After a slight lull in nitro on-road racing, the last few years have featured some exciting and close competition, with an interesting mix of drivers and manufacturers really bringing the class to life once again. I’ve had the opportunity to watch most of the teams throughout the last couple of years from my enviable position of overseeing the ENS championship, and that’s the experience I’ve drawn on to review the contenders and challengers for this year’s World title.

Claus Ryeskov takes Danish 200mm Championship

The final round of the Danish IC Track National Championship was held in Naestved last weekend. Going into the final race pre-event favourite Claus Ryeskov had a points advantage over his competitors Rene Kjellerup and Chris Nielsen but still needed a top 3 finish to seal the championship. With a TQ Claus made a first step towards the championship and started from pole into the A-main, leaving Chris Nielsen and Rene Kjellerup behind in 2nd and 3rd. Chris Nielsen in his debut season looked like he would be able to challenge Claus but once the main got underway Ryeskov never looked back to take the win while Chris was battling with Rene Kjellerup and Lars Bo Larsen for the final podium spots. Ultimately it was Chris who maintained the 2 spot. In the overall ranking it was Claus with another national championship title from Chris Nielsen 2nd and Rene Kjellerup who rounded out the all-Xray podium.
