Recently Roberto Migneco managed to dominate both round 4 and 5 of the 1/10 Nitro Touring Maltese National Championship. Driving two flawless finals with tone-to-tone wins he scored the maximum points with the help of his trusted mechanic and pitman Edward. The 6th and final round of the championship will be race in June with Roberto having the best chanced to be crowned as the 2015 champion.

Ronald Volker set the early pace on the opening day of the 18th running of the Reedy International Touring Car Race of Champions. Winner of the event on its return to the famous Tamiya Raceway last year, the Yokomo driver posted the fastest three consecutive laps of the opening two of the four scheduled rounds of practice. A 27-car invitational field, the most competitive the race has seen since it was previously ran at the Californian track, it was Serpent’s Viktor Wilck who was closest to Volker’s pace albeit over half a second off. An impressive run from Team Associated’s Rick Hohwart would see the touring car veteran completing the Top 3.

The opening round of the Local Champions Tour, a new race series in the South of Germany, was held at the Türkheim track in the four on-road classes of 1/8th Nitro and Electric as well as 1/10th Nitro and Electric. Due to a not-so-perfect weather forecast only 31 drivers attended Saturday’s practice and overnight rain made for a wet track on Sunday morning. The track conditions only allowed for two qualifying rounds followed by bump-up finals and triple 15 minute A-mains, a new race format that combines both nitro and electric rules. At the end of the day Tobias won the 1/8th Nitro class from Bastian Gramlich and Alexander Bremberger. The 1/8th Electric class was won by Alex Kestler, the 1/10th Nitro win went to Philipp Kieble and 1/10th Electric had Thomas Werner walking away with the overall victory. Round 2 of the series will be held in Rötz on the 27th and 28th of June.

The Italian Faboweb Trophy was held with 75 drivers in attendance and in the Formula class it was Davide Carbone who would win the race from TQ holder Paolo Bottignol. Roberto La Prova completed the podium by coming in 3rd.

The 5th round of the Slovakia Cup was held at the World-renown Hudy Racing Arena in six different electric on-road and off-road classes. In the Touring Car Modified category Martin Hudy set the pace in front of David Nemcek who fought with Oliver Havranek for the 2nd place. The A-mains then were a pretty easy affair for Martin who brought home the win on his home track in front of David and Oliver.

The opening round of the Malaysia Edition Ride Cup Championship Series was held at the RC Park in Shah Alam, 30 minutes away from Kuala Lumpur. Organised by Ride Malaysia the event attracted nearly 100 drivers for the four classes of Touring 13.5T Boosted, Touring 13.5T Blinky, M-Chassis 13.5T Blinky and Formula 17.5T Blinky. With 112 entries this was one of the biggest EP events on Malaysian soil this year. The fastest class of the event, Touring 13.5T Boosted, attracted many drivers normally found driving Modified classes and right from the start the fight was on between Norazam and Wong KokWai who would be fighting for the TQ position with Asmad and Raphael from East Malaysia being in the mix too. Ultimately Norazam would grab the TQ from Wong KokWai with the only 22 laps run, although Wong KokWai was less than 1 second away from achieving the same number of laps. The remainder of the field was also a tight battle, with the top 15 positions all managing 21 lap runs, with 3rd to 10th place finishing within 6 seconds.

The third edition of The Main Race, previously known as the Trofeo Speed RC, will be held on the 20th and 21st of June at the Apron track near Milan. Last year more than 85 drivers attended in the classes of Touring Car Modified, Touring Car Stock and Formula and for this year the organisers also added a Super Stock 17.5T class. The race is focussing on a fun and relaxed atmosphere with the fastest Italian drivers being expected to make their entry. Included in the racing fee is a welcome pack with two sets of tyres, custom number stickers and an event T-shirt. The second round of the Austrian Electric On-road Nationals was held at the countryside track of the SFMAV near Salzburg. Overall 40 racers attended this round in the classes of Touring Car Modified, Touring Car Stock and Formula. With the beginning of the qualification heats rain started to fall, but with an one hour delay the qualifiers were started and beside one short interruption the race would go ahead as planned. In Touring Car Modified Dominic Vogl was the man to beat. Again he and his Yokomo performed impressively. As in the first round Dominic had some issues in the qualification heats, but he finally took the TQ with the fastest heat and fastest lap of the race as Dominic was the one and only driver in Modified who was able to go 20 laps. Mario Sowka would line up in 2nd, followed by Christoph Ramsauer and Toni Eder. In the finals Dominic was unbeatable and he made a clean sweep in A1 and A2. Mario won the A3 and therefore he got the overall runner up spot followed by Toni, both running on Serpent.
