Fenix Classic Team Lotus 78 body shell

Coming from Fenix Racing is their new, fully-licensed Classic Team Lotus 78 body shell for 1/10th formula pan cars. The Lotus 78, in the iconic black and golden livery, was used during the 1977 and 1978 Formula 1 seasons, being the first Formula 1 car utilising ground effect technology. The new body, developed with full support of Classic Team Lotus, depicts the car used by Mario Andretti to win the 1978 World Championship. The body is fitting Tamiya F103 and F104 chassis as well as all cars of similar layout and dimensions with Fenix working on their own chassis to further extend the range of usable chassis. The body comes moulded from high-quality polycarbonate and it is further customisable using Fenix Racing’s Classique aluminium air intakes.

Fenix introduce new Mistral 2-0 & G56 optionals

Fenix Racing have introduced new option parts for the Mistral 2.0 and G56 pan car kits in the form of aluminium front upper arm mounts and a titanium uniball for the Mistral 2-0 shock mount. Starting with the upper arm mounts, these parts are machined from high-quality 7075 aluminium and they greatly reduce play and unwanted flex, resulting in a more precise feeling of the car on the track. Black coated for wear and looks the parts fit both the Mistral 2-0 and the G56 series of pan cars and they come in pairs including all necessary hardware. Also new is a titanium shock holder pivot ball for the Mistral 2-0 formula car. The uniball allows to remove the battery without undoing the central shock, which makes for more convenient battery swapping.

Fenix G56 aluminium chassis & pod plates

Coming from Fenix are new aluminium chassis options for the G56 series 200mm and 235mm wheelbase pan cars. First up is a 7075 aluminium main SWB short wheelbase chassis plate that us usable for pivot and link-type cars. A direct replacement for pivot-style kits the chassis is also usable on V-link cars, however it shortens the wheelbase by 11mm and does not allow the use of standard-size “touring car” LiPos. The chassis comes black anodised and with laser-etched logos. Also new are 7075 aluminium pivot-style power pods for 200mm and 235mm wide cars. Like the main chassis the lower pod plates come machined from high-quality aluminium while a black surface coating ensures factory looks and added surface protection.

Fenix March 240 6-wheel formula body shell

Fenix Racing have released first prototype images of their forthcoming new March 240 6-wheel formula body shell. The full-scale car was developed in the crazy 1970’s that also brought the Tyrell P34 6-wheeler, however the March 240 was never used in a Formula 1 race as the ambitions project, that promised less aerodynamic drag and better traction thanks to its rear 4WD drive drivetrain, was too much to chew for a small team like March. Nevertheless it gained some popularity and the 4WD package later made it into Roy Lane’s successful hillclimb March 771. As for the 1/10th scale replica, Fenix is currently finalising its design and the body will hit the stores in kit form very soon.

Fenix Mistral 2-0 formula car kit

Fenix have introduced their new Mistral 2-0 1/10th scale formula car kit. A radical departure from the current formula car design the Mistral 2-0 is the first kit to utilise a V-link, better known as quad-link design rear suspension. The rear V-links allow to adjust the chassis’ roll centre for improved overall traction and better adjustability to a variety of track conditions. Also up front Fenix decided to go a different route with the design allowing to use static or dynamic caster adjustments for a more aggressive steering. The kit will become available with a ball or gear differential, allowing to pre-set the car for low or high grip conditions.
