Mugen Seiki 2009 Winter Clothing line

Similar to what they did last year, Mugen have once again released a limited number of their 2009 winter coats and trousers. Available through pre order only, this years clothing comes in blue/grey, with the jacket featuring the new Mugen Seiki logo on the front chest, with a large example of the same design on the back. The trousers too sport the same logo, on the lower leg.

Mugen MBX-6 lightweight options

Mugen have released a number of new items for their new 1/8th scale buggy, the MBX-6. First up is this pair of aluminium axle shafts that are hard coated and in a set of 4 are 22 grams lighter than the standard kit shafts. To further lighten your car, there is a pair of hard coated aluminium joint cups that offer a saving of 12.5 grams for the pair. Finally, to further strengthen your car, there is an optional front upper arm mount made from hard coated aluminium.

Daniel Reckward joins Mugen Seiki

It has just been confirmed that former World and European champion Daniel Reckward has joined Mugen Seiki from the 2009 season onwards. Having raced for Kyosho for many years, he will now drive for Mugen as well as distribute and promote the off-road range of Mugen Seiki products in Germany starting from 2009. Also announced by Mugen is that that MID Mugen Seiki Mod.-Vertr. GmbH has changed its name to Mugen Seiki Europe.  With this company name change, “we aim to maximize group synergies to further build the relationships and trust we have with our existing customers. We will use the power of the Mugen Seiki Group companies to develop our company’s strengths”.

JConcepts Illuzion MBX-6 & X2 shells

JConcepts set a new standard with the original Illuzion body for the MBX-5 back in 2004 and is setting trends once again in 2008 for the MBX-6. Robert Pietsch rejoins Mugen Seiki

Robert Pietsch rejoins Mugen Seiki

Robert Pietsch, the designer behind the successful Shepherd Velox as well as top international racer has made a shock return to the MID Mugen Team for the start of the 2009 season. The 2007 German Champion will compete with the MRX-4X and MTX-4 but he will not just represent Mugen as a driver but will bring with him his experience and design ideas and will work closely with the technical designers at Mugen’s Japanese Headquarters. This is big blow for Shepherd who not only lose a World class racer, but a product designer too.

Mugen have released the latest product in their clothing line-up with the release of this long sleeve tee. Made from grey cotton, the shirt sports Mugen Seiki’s new logo small on the front chest and large on the back, while the left sleeve sports the same words but in a different style. Available in M, L and XL.

New from Mugen, for use in their MBX-6, MRX-4 as well as their MTX4-R, is this new 1500mAh receiver battery pack. Claiming to have 50% more capacity than previous versions, this 6V nickel-metal hydride battery is protected by black shrink sleeving and is available with either a Sanwa/Airtronics or a Futaba type plug.
