Picco Monza & Blast .21 engines

Picco from Italy have introduced their new Monza .21 Team on-road and Blast .21 Team off-road engines. Starting with the on-road engine, 3.5cc power plant features a newly designed crankcase that improves internal gas flow and produces a higher performance over the whole RPM range. The 14mm crankshaft utilises a silicone insert and it is DLC-coated in order to prevent wear of the pin as well as oxidation. The shaft rests in a high-quality rear ceramic Swiss-made bearing. The 7-port cylinder and piston is made using special alloys to optimise lifespan and reliability of the unit. Paired with the long stroke design the Monza provides great bottom end power to suit demanding high grip on-road tracks. The super-aligned knife edged aerodynamic connecting rod is also made with a special aluminium alloy. The carburettor sports the latest double bottom-end adjustment for fine-tuning.

Picco R2-3518 Team DLC Ceramic on-road engine

In addition to their new .21 off-road and .12 nitro touring engines, Italian company Picco also have a new 3.5cc nitro on-road engine available. The R2-3518 Team DLC Ceramic is based off of the popular R1 platform and thanks to numerous improvements the power band and stability could be further improved. A new cylinder port shape and crankshaft design optimise the internal mixture flow and also the bore/stroke ratio has been updated slightly compared to the R1. The new engine still features the DLC coated crankshaft for great durability of all parts involved while the latest crankcase design provides improved overall stiffness and therefore a more stable performance at every temperature. The engine is rounded out by a rear Swiss-made ceramic bearing and a carburettor with double bottom-end adjustment.

Picco V1-3518 & S1-1218 nitro engines

Coming from Picco are the new V1-3518 Team DLC Ceramic and S1-2918 Team nitro engines. Starting with the V1-3518, the power plant is an updated version of the engine that won last year’s 1/8th Buggy Euros in Sweden. The 5-port cylinder, paired with the long stroke design, provides plenty of power throughout the whole power band. The crankshaft received an DLC treatment in order to increase its durability even in the most demanding off-road situation and it rotates in a Swiss-made ceramic rear bearing. The carburettor sports the latest double bottom-end adjustment for fine-tuning and improved reliability and the engine is rounded out by a new cooling head design.

Picco R1 Team WC2017 3.5cc nitro on-road engine

Picco Micromotori have introduced the latest addition to their on-road engine range, the R1 Team DLC WC2017. The power plant is a limited edition run, tested on the 2017 Worlds track and featuring a different cylinder with updated timing that increases the bottom power to better suit the challenging French circuit. The engine is easily recognised by a new engraved cooling head, specially designed and dedicated to the event and maintaining the size of the standard version to obtain a low centre of gravity. As with the standard R1 Team version, the crankcase sports a designing concept that ensures more stable performance throughout a wider temperature range and thanks to its improved stiffness it is immune to any RPM loss caused by unwanted torsion. The WC2017 also shares the same double bottom-end adjustment carburettor for finer tuning and a better mixture flow. The crankshaft features DLC coating that prevents any oxidation and wear of the crankpin and the engine comes fitted with a ceramic ball bearing and a 7-port sleeve paired with a piston machined from high silicon material.
