Xray Asia Nitro Challenge 2009

The first Xray Challenge in the nitro class where only NT1 cars were allowed to start was held in the Hong Kong. The race was held on August 15-16, 2009 at the big track situated approximately 60km from Honk Kong City. Drivers from Hong Kong, Thailand, Malaysia, Macau, China, Indonesia, Philippines, United Kingdom, and Slovakia participated in this race whose main purpose was to have fun and enjoy racing. Juraj and Martin Hudy attended the race to provide support to all Xray NT1 owners at the race. In total, the race was attended by almost 120 NT1 drivers. This number was fantastic mainly because all drivers used only one brand of car. The race was organized by Honk Kong distributor World Model.

Xray Column – Testing Always last minute, Always new ideas

Xray Column - Testing Always last minute, Always new ideas

The 33rd installment in the Xray column from Xray owner and chief designer Juraj Hudy is now online. In this months column, Juraj takes about fitting in development and testing of their various projects around their very busy Summer racing schedule.

As with every other team, we have worked very hard before this particular battle. Work has been done both off and on the track; the huge amount of work would not be feasible for a single person but rather required the combined teamwork of the racing and R&D teams. After the Off-road warm-up in Austria back in May, we were ready to participate at the official Nitro Touring Euros warm-up in Italy. However, due to some very important work and projects in the factory we had no free time and as such we had to skip the official warm-up and find an alternative date for private testing.

Xray Column – Heading for the Euros

Xray Column - Heading for the Euros

The 32nd installment in the Xray column from Xray owner and chief designer Juraj Hudy is now online. In this months column, Juraj gives his thoughts about the 1/8th scale European Buggy Championships that took place in Austria, as well as some post race testing of their XB808 buggy.

While testing we exchanged cars with Martin and as usual I felt his car to be much more sensitive with a lot more steering. To get an independent opinion, we gave both my and Martin’s cars to Bayer for testing. Ironically, he reported the opposite: my car had more steering and my shock set-up was more to his personal likeness! That made it very clear that everyone prefers a different handling style and what seems to understeer to one person may seem to oversteer for someone else.
