Malisovas wins Greek Gas Open Rd2

Malisovas wins Greek Gas Open Rd2

Xray are reporting on their site from the 2nd round of the Greek Gas Open Series run last weekend at the Fanatix Racing Track. The event attracted 34 drivers and in qualifying it was Malisovis that took the pole position from Louis in 2nd spot, Fokianos in 3rd and 11 year old Kastorinis in 4th, in his third ever race.

The really big 45min final was very fast from the beggining with 2 drivers on the same lap for more than 30min. A small mistake from Louis after lapping slower drivers gave space to Malisovas to drive to an easy win.

Dirk Wischnewki wins Rd6 Central German Regionals

Wischnewki wins Rd6 Central German regionals

Xray are reporting on their site from the 6th and final central German Regional race held in Ettlingen which attracted a number of top drivers including Martin Hudy, who came from Slovakia for the race. Qualifiying saw Xray NT1 driver Dirk Wischnewki take the TQ, after setting a fast time on a slowing track, to place ahead of 2nd qualifer Stefan Hannauer, racing a Kyosho, who had set his fastest time in the first round when the track was quicker. The 3rd spot went to Martin Hudy, driving the NT1, who despite being quick on Saturdays practice couldnt get the same power from his engine on the Sunday, and combined with some bad luck in his heats, could only place 3rd. Before the finals the rain started and the drivers elected to not race and so the qualifying results were the final results which gave Wischnewki the win from Hannauer in 2nd and Hudy in 3rd.

Xray 4-Hole Composite Shock Pistons

Xray 4-Hole Composite Shock Pistons

Xray have released details of their new 4-hole large-bore shock pistons which have been designed specifically for use with the wider XRAY shock absorbers, that are sold for the XT8 and XB8 EC. The newly-redesigned pistons use a new production process to improve roundness, ensuring perfect piston movement in all four shocks and each of the pistons have four straight holes, in sizes of 1.3mm 1.4mm and 1.5mm, in every set. The 4-hole pistons with the same hole diameter have increased oil flow compared to pistons with fewer holes (for example, 2-hole pistons). This allows the use of thicker shock oil, which will allow for different damping characteristics.

Kesküla & Mere win 2nd round of Estonian Off-road Cup

Estonian Off-road Cup Rd2

Another report from Xray, this time from the 2nd round of the Estonian Off road Cup, held on a brand new track in Tartu. Qualifying for the buggy class saw the pole position go to Rando Mere, while in the truggy event the top spot went to Jaanus Kesküla, racing the new Xray XT8. In the buggy final the battle was between pole man Rando Mere and Jaanus Kesküla, but an engine stall from Kesküla dropped him out of contention and the win went to Mere, followed by Keskula in 2nd with Taivo Murumäe in 3rd. In the truggy final it was a battle between the Xray team mates Kesküla and Andres Käver until a loose servo horn on the 21st lap dropped Käver back to the middle of the pack as he had the problem fixed. Back on the track and Andres could push his truggy and managed to make his way back to 2nd where he finished, 5 laps down on Kesküla who took the win, while 3rd spot belonged to Martti Siimsen.

Andersen wins Norwegian National Cup Rd3

Xray have a report from the recently held 3rd round of the Norwegian National Cup that was run on a track some 900m above sea level, in the beautiful mountain side in Valdres. Qualifying saw the Xray NT1 trio of Helge Johannessen, Georg Ellingsen and Frank Andersen claim the first 3 spots for the final, with Johannessen setting a new track record on his way to pole position. In the final the top 3 pulled away in their starting order with Johannessen leading until the 15 minute mark when he hit a stopped car, taking him out of the race. 3racing have introduced this quick change engine mount system for both the Kyosho V One RRR and XRay NT1 200mm chassis’. Available as two seperate designs, for each of the 2 cars, the mechanism and benefits are the same and that is, firstly, that it allows your engine to be removed easily and quickly from your car. The 2nd and main benefit is when you go to put your engine back, you dont need to worry about gear mesh and alignment issues due to the systems 2 piece design combined with the use of aligning pins mean that you only ever have to align your motor in your car once.
