Protek R/C Prodigy 65 & 65 AC chargers

A Main Hobbies have announced two Protek R/C chargers, the Prodigy 65 and Prodigy 65 AC, the first items in a new line of chargers from ProTek R/C. The Prodigy 65 is a powerful multifunctional balance charger with a high performance microprocessor that delivers 50 watts of output power and produces a maximum charge current of 5.0 amps with an efficient cooling system, allowing it to efficiently operate at full power with little effort. Featuring an optimized user interface with a variety of functions that allow you to charge, discharge or cycle up to 15 NiCd or NiMH cells, as well as LiPo, Li-ion, and LiFe, up to 6S. The internal balancer will keep your lithium batteries safely balanced when charging in balance mode, while the fast charge mode will get your pack charged quickly and the storage charge mode will prepare your batteries for long-term storage. And where the Prodigy 65 is a great choice for those who already have a power supply, the built-in 5 amp power supply of Prodigy 65 AC provides all of that functionality with power straight from an electrical socket.

JConcepts Tense wheels for Slash 2wd

New for the Slash 2wd JConcepts have released their Tense front wheels which are a glue-on, all-out competition inspired wheel from the ground up designed to withstand heavy abuse and perform under even the most demanding situations. The wheel design begins with a scale appeal and functionality that separates itself from the rest, while a heavy duty black nylon material and 12mm beefy hex design combine to form the ultimate in scale and performance. Topping off the appearance of the wheel are 2 optional open and closed center caps, one with JC logo for authenticity and brand loyalty. With 2 solid and 2 open center caps included, the driver now has the option for complete show with a closed cap or performance and function with the open cap. The center caps are secured to the wheel with included 6 – 2.5x8mm button head screws.

Shepherd shock tool

Shepherd have introduced their all new shock tool. This lightweight tool has been CNC machined and was especially designed for the Velox Revolutionary Shocks. No more pliers or other tools, which could damage the shock body or cap, are necessary. The hexagon on one end of the tool tightens the shock cap screw while the two pins on the opposite end fit perfectly in the shock bottom screw. A must-have for every Shepherd driver.

Bando FR & RR belts for the KM H-K1

More new parts for the H-K1 200mm chassis with KM Racing releasing this pair of Bando front and rear belts. Made in Japan from Kevlar reinforced plastic, the belts offer extra durability and long life compared the standard versions in the kit.

VRC Column – A taste of things to come

We can’t wait to show you what the VRC team has been working on for the past 5 years so here is a sneak preview of what you can expect. In 1:8 nitro you will have the choice between our own Intercept NR8, the Kyosho Evolva M3, the Serpent 966 chassis. The bodies will feature decal sets of all the leading brands in 1;8 nitro on-road racing: Kyosho, Serpent, Mugen, Shepherd, Motonica, Xray, Capricorn and our own Intercept.

Grid RC DX3R drop down adapter V2

Having already shipped its first drop-down adapter for the Spektrum DX3R transmitter, which gave much improved ergonomics by bringing the steering wheel in-line with the throttle trigger, Grid RC have released this second version. For 2011 they decided to mill the drop-down from a single aluminium billet instead of the two-piece version produced in 2010, the result is a lower weight of 38 grams, which is 10 grams lighter. The kit includes stainless steel fasteners and again installs in minutes.
