Rick Vessell joins Wallace Motorsports

Wallace Motorsports have announced the addition of Rick Vessell to their growing team. Rick will be using WRC products for his racing through out 2018, starting with the STX and F-One lines. With his many years of experience within the RC business and racing industry Rick is set to show the potential of the WRC products and help provide trackside support for WRC customers through out the US.

SIS Challenge Rd2 – Report

The second round of the SIS Challenge was held at Sunter International Speedway, Jakarta. Clear and hot weather pleased the racers all day and to the warm temperatures added low traction due to a dusty track which lead to tyre overheating for some drivers. The qualifying saw three drivers on top of the timing sheets. Q1 belonged to Muhammad Izzah and Q2 was lead by Bowie Ginting while Teddy Syach made it to the top in Q3. As all three were tie on points it was Bowie with the pole position due to a faster time with Syach and Izzah coming in 2nd and 3rd.

TORC Turkish On-road Nationals Rd5 – Report

The fifth and final round of the TORC Turkish On-road Nationals was held at the Bumod Bursa track recently. In the Nitro Touring class it was Mustafa Alp with the TQ and the best chances for the overall title as Alain Sarafyan, another title contender, only qualified in 10th after engine issues. The 45-minute main final was held in rather hot ambient temperatures which led to less power from the engines and also lower traction. TQ Alp was hardly able to hold Halit and Kagan behind and he struggled a lot in the opening stages but once the tyres were getting smaller Mustafa was getting more comfortable with the car, slowly extending his lead.

Williamson & Boyle take UK Short Course National titles

The UK Short Course Nationals recently concluded with Lewis Williamson and Darren Boyle being crowned the 2017 champions. In 4WD, last season’s champion Lewis Williamson (TLR) was in unstoppable form all season long once taking podium finishes at every round and winning with a perfect 1000 point score and securing the outright series title to become National Champion for the second year in a row. Last year’s runner-up and team mate Darren Boyle (TLR) was 2nd again with Justin Kirk (Tekno) rounding out the podium result.

2017 Southern Nationals – Report

The 2017 Southern Nationals was a highly anticipated race for many. Living up to the hype from previous years, this special race drew in some of the top pro racers from around the nation making it the most competitive Southern Nationals to date. With drivers like Tekno’s Ryan Lutz and Joe Bornhorst, Agama’s Darren Bloomfield, HB Racing’s Cody King, Mugen’s Cole Ogden and Ryan Maifield, the Southern Nationals was set for fireworks during the A-finals.

Marcel Schneider takes 1/10th 2WD Off-Road Nats title

The 2017 German 1/10th Electric 2WD Nationals were held at the MAC Hütschenhausen track recently. The first ever nationals on this full astro turf track held some difficulties for the drivers as the large and fast layout with multiple high speed single double and quad jumps made it hard to manage error-free runs. In addition the weather was very changing and with short showers especially on Saturday for the fastest heat, it made qualifying very difficult. In the 2WD Modified class it was veteran Schumacher racer Ralf Missel with the overall TQ from young Marcel Schneider who put his R Stonem converted Team C TM2V2 on the 2 spot from free agent, Jörn Neumann in 3rd.

Xray Racing Series UK Off-road – Announcement

Xray have announced the XRS UK Off-road series for the coming Fall and Winter season. Held at Midlands Raceway the series will kick off on October 1st with the finale being held on March 4th. The series will be held in 2WD Open, 2WD 13.5T Stock, 4WD Open and Truck Open classes and full event information and sign-up is available here.

Serpent Cup Japan – Announcement

The Serpent Cup Japan will be held at the Yatabe Arena on the 1st of October. The event will see the running of the 17.5T Touring Serpent Cup class, 13.5T and Modified Touring racing as well as a range of 1/12th scale Stock and Modified classes and also a 30.5T Formula category. Serpent designer and ETS Formula champion David Ehrbar will be resent at the event and more information will be available on the official Yataba Arena website here or by mailing Japanese Serpent distributors Asuka Create at info@asukacreate.com.
