Pietsch maintains perfect score in South Germany

Last week we reported on the 1/10th scale results from the 3rd round of the South Germany regionals in Rosenheim, which saw Robert Pietsch take the win for Xray. Robert was also in action in the 1/8th scale class at the same event, and the Novarossi team driver, who has won the first 2 rounds, showed once again that he is in top form. After 4 rounds of qualification he placed his Shepherd Velox on pole position, 7 seconds faster than Mugen driver Armin Baier in 2nd with Kyosho team driver Andreas Hammerl in 3rd. The final took place under perfect weather conditions with Robert making the most of the clear track in front of him at the start and could pull out an advantage maintaining his position to the end, winning by 2 laps in front of his uncle Christoph Pietsch while 3rd place went to Andreas Hammerl, 2 laps further back.

Lukas Zeman wins Rd2 of Czech TT Nats

A very brief update on the 2nd round of the Czech Nationals that was run last weekend by the RCACR. The race was won by Falcon powered Xray driver Lukas Zeman with his Xray team mate Petr Klatovsky in 2nd while 3rd place went to Jakub Musil racing for Mugen. Czech National Champion Martin Bayer had a difficult event finishing down the field in 9th.

Palla Csaba wins Rd2 of Hungarian TT Nats

A quick update on the 2nd round of the Hungarian 1/8th scale buggy Nationals that took place last weekend in Szolnok. The race was won by Ninja powered Mugen racer Pall Csaba while Kyosho racer Orsovai Dezso took 2nd place with the 3rd spot going to Szebelledi Laszlo racing a RB powered Xray XB8EC.

Peter Harder wins Rd3 of Danish TT Nats

Another report from Xray, this time from the 3rd round of the Danish Nationals held at a huge RC stadium just outside Copenhagen. The results from the semi finals saw Kyosho racer Thomas Mikkelsen take the top starting position ahead of Xray racer Peter Harder in 2nd, who when the race started made a bad start allowing Steffen Culmsee to come from behind to take the lead followed by Harder. After the pitstops Peter could regain the lead and, after an accident for Culmsee, could cruise home to the win ahead of Mikkelsen in 2nd with 3rd spot going to CEN racer Rune Gustavsen.

Harris Katikas wins Greek Nats Rd2

Harris Katikas wins Turkish Nats Rd2

Xray have a brief report on their site from the 2nd round of the Greek electric Nationals which was held last weekend on the Patras circuit. Harris Katikas, racing for Xray, completely dominated the World (open) class race by taking the TQ and the overall win ahead of team mates Nikolakopoulos and Agelakopoulos in 2nd and 3rd respectively. In the National class it was a win for Karabelas with 2nd going to Flabouris while Balasis took 3rd.

Alex Laffranchi wins Rd3 of Italian Nats

The third round of the Italian 1/8th scale buggy Nationals took place last weekend in Genzone, near Milan. Held under great weather conditions, qualifying was headed by new Xray signing, and former Italian Champion, Alex Laffranchi ahead of 2nd placed team mate, and round 2 winner, Riccardo Perin with current National Champion Davide Tortorici in 3rd for Crono. After the Semi finals it was Laffranchi placed at the front of the grid for the main final, and he carried that form through to the final flag to take his first win for his new sponsors Xray, with 2nd place going to Tortorici while Iuri Gassi took 3rd spot for Mugen.

Yannick Aigoin takes Rd3 of French Nats

The 3rd round of the French 1/8th scale buggy Nationals took place this weekend at the Reims circuit in the North of France. The event was dominated by Yannick Aigoin, the current European Champion set the fastest time in qualifying driving his RB powered Xray while the Mugen pairing of Guilliame Vray and Renaud Savoya were 2nd and 3rd fastest respectively. After the semis it was in fact Savoya that had claimed the number 1 starting spot ahead of Yannick in 2nd, with Crono racer and round 2 winner Jerome Sartel starting from 3rd. The race itself was a close run thing with Yannick Aigoin finally claiming the win, a few seconds up on 2nd placed Sartel, while French EFRA GP winner Jerome Aigoin ended the event in 3rd for Kyosho.

Hakansson wins Swedish Nitro Series

Another report from Xray, this time its from last weekends Swedish Nitro Series and Swedish Cup, both events run on the same weekend at the high-speed track in Ã–rebro. Once again rain played a role in the outcome of the event with a short downpour before the main SNS final causing drivers to change setups and adjust strategies. At the beginning of the final there was some initial chaos but after a couple of laps it settled down and Xray driver Niklas Hakansson pulled away to a clear victory with 4 laps in front of 2nd placed Serpent driver Christoffer Hallborg with another Xray of Brandt Mikael in 3rd.
