2019/20 One12 Series Rd1 – Report

The recently launched One12 Series, a 5-race championship held in Italy and dedicated to 1/12th scale classes such as LMP Open Modified and GT12, saw its debut in the beautiful indoor track of RC Landia in Scandiano. The CRC Black Carpet with which the facility was recently set up, offered best conditions for a great race in high and consistent grip. It was a perfect weekend for Alessio Mota, reigning Italian GT12 Series Champion, who started his campaign in the series with a double TQ and win. In GT12, which in Italy is traditionally run according to EFRA/BRCA rules, Alessio set the pace in qualifying from the get go, sealing the 1st spot on the grid with a 2-second advantage on Guido Carbognani. A very tight battle for 3rd, saw Alessandro Rampini prevail on Massimo Imovilli by just 2/100 of a second. During the afternoon’s finals, Alessio checked out early in both A1 and A2 taking hold of the overall win for round 1 of the series ahead of Alessandro, who was able to leapfrog Guido in the proceedings.
