Jessica Palsson sweeps Fururing Easter Race

The Fururing Raceway in Furulund, Schweden held their Easter Race this past weekend in 1/8th nitro and electric classes. Kyosho’s Jessica Palsson was in control of things in the nitro class, taking the overall TQ after a clean sweep and also bringing home the win in the 45-minute main final with a 2-lap margin on HB Racing’s Hampus Berg. Young Ludwig Albertz (Kyosho) came in 3rd to round out the podium some four laps down.

Collari & Swauger win at Protoform Nitro Grand Prix

The Protoform Nitro Grand Prix was held at Steel City RC Speedway win Fontana, California over the weekend. The event attracted some of the country’s fastest nitro on-road racers as well as guests from Australia, Italy, Japan and Thailand and in the premier 1/8th IFMAR IC Track class it was Australia’s Jeff Hamon with the overall TQ, however brake issues in the 60-minute main final meant the Mugen driver wasn’t able to hold the top spot, having to let Infinity’s Lamberto Collari go. Jeff however managed to defend the runner-up spot from 2nd place qualifier, Infinity’s Takaaki Shimo from Japan.

Degani & Ciccarello win at 2019 PNB

The recent 2019 edition of the Psycho Nitro Blast brought together some of the US’ fastest off-road racers and with over 700 entries and 24 hours of practice, it was a mind blowing experience for many. In the 40+ Nitro Buggy class A-main Paul Ciccarello led of the of the race but in the end it was veteran racer, Greg Degani with the win from Paul on the runner-up spot. Donald Elliott would round out the top 3.

Isaacs & Klingforth win at Mile High Indoor Champs

The 2019 Mile High Indoor Championships were held at 5280 Raceway in Denver, Colorado this past weekend. In the premier Touring Modified class it was Awesomatix’s Sam Isaacs with the TQ and win from Xray’s Keven Hebert on the 2 spot. Awesomatix’s Kyle Klingforth would round out the podium in 3rd.

Jason Mardon doubles at Big Barn Shootout

The recent 2019 edition of the Big Barn Shootout was also round 1 of the Western Offroad Race Series WORS. The Series travels though British Columbia with five rounds of 10th scale and 8th scale classes. This year saw the entries top 430 with over 130 drivers with radios in hand. Entries were from Ontario, the Northwest USA, and the three western provinces. Ty Tessmann joined the fun in the feature 8th Scale Buggy classes. 1/10th qualifying would finish up with Jason Mardon TQing in 2wd Buggy with Dan Schellenberg behind. Schellenberg in return would TQ in Truck with Mardon behind. Both drivers also raced secondary classes, but it was clear the 2WD classes were going to require full attention from both drivers through mains day.

Schumacher US Grand Prix 2019 – Announcement

The Schumacher US Grand Prix 2019 will be held at RC Madness, Enfield, Connecticut on the 10th and 11th of August. The race will see the usual Modified, 13.5T and 17.5T buggy and truck classes with Schumacher spec tyres being mandatory for all categories. As a special guest Schumacher’s Michal Orlowski will be in attendance and sign-up is available here.

Bregante & Biurrum win at South American Champs

Calama in Chile played host to the South American Championship recently. In the premier 1/8th Nitro Buggy class it was Nicolas Bregante with the overall win, taking his third South American title following wins in 2017 and 2016. Henrique Winik snatched the vice-championship from Emilio Jurado in 3rd. Young Matias Cardin became best of the rest and also best Junior on his 15th birthday.

Brad Collins doubles at 2019 PNB

Last weekend’s 2019 Psycho Nitro Blast was held at the Walter State Expo Centre in White Pine, Tennessee. The unique event with 24 hours of practice is quite exhausting but rewarding at the same time. In Open Nitro Truggy it was Cody Saner with the overall TQ, however in the end it was Brad Collins with a popular win. Brad started 14th on the grid and was a little nervous the first few laps knowing he was faster than 14th, trying to get around all the traffic was getting under his skin. Collins stayed calm with the help of Chris Lowe on the mic and was able to have a clean start and with a good joker lane strategy he was able to come out in front by 2/3 of the race and lead the rest of the way to take the title in front of Shane Barrier and Michael Percell. Shawn Fraser and Cody Saner would round out the top 5.
