MIP Pucks B6 series 17.5 Drive System 67mm

MIP have introduced the Pucks 17.5 Drive System 67mm for the Team Associated B6 series of buggies. It features an aluminium based drivetrain system which includes a 2-piece aluminium outdrive cup and aluminium outdrive hub, two Bi-metal bones, and the replaceable plastic orange wear Pucks that take the place of the inferior steel pins. This combination greatly increases the longevity of the drive train and most importantly decreases the drivetrain’s overall rotating mass by 50 percent. The decrease in weight directly results in quicker acceleration, deceleration, and lower motor temperatures. The set includes all needed parts including the ball differential but except the diff gear and wheel axles. The kit is available for pre-order now and will be produced if 125 pre-orders are received until November 8th.

This event celebrates sportsmanship and competition, and the prestigious ‘Coleman Cup’ for services to the sport was awarded to Bazz Densely who not only prepared buggies for his two kids to race but also helped with track prep and even cooking the bbq through the weekend.

RCSS B64 LCG Relocation shock towers & upper deck

Coming from RC Speed Secrets and made for the Team Associated B64 and B64D are the carbon fibre LCG Relocation shock towers and a carbon fibre front upper deck. Starting with the shock towers, RCSS relocated the holes to align the camber link above the hinge pin and added some extra LCG tuning hole options in the same position. The result is a car that tracks better while promoting sweeping turns versus more choppy turning. The towers also offer more tuning options for higher traction surfaces like carpet, turf, and high bite clay. Although in testing showed that it is best to run both front and rear LCG towers, Team Associated’s Spencer Rivkin just used the rear tower to take a 2nd overall at the recent International Offroad Carpet Championship.

Fall Super Cup Rd2 – Report

For the first time in Super Cup history, the JConcepts Super Cup Championship Series was held outside of the Florida State line and ventured into Savannah, Georgia’s Phil Hurd Raceway. 3-time host to the US Offroad Nationals in 91, 92, and 95, Phil Hurd Raceway is a track well known for its rich history and this year is celebrating 30 years of operation. The track is massive resembling more of a 1/8th track than 1/10th. With room to spare, lap times were in the 31 second plus range making mistake free runs extremely difficult. With heavy rain falling on Friday, Saturday morning saw a slow start to the day as the track crew fought hard to get the track race ready. As the sun came out, the track was quickly drying and racing was underway just around 2pm. The flow of the track was great and the layout extremely fun with a Phil Hurd twist. By the mains, the grip was much higher allowing cars to put the power down and made for a great night of racing under the lights.
