The second round of the SIS Challenge was held at Sunter International Speedway, Jakarta. Clear and hot weather pleased the racers all day and to the warm temperatures added low traction due to a dusty track which lead to tyre overheating for some drivers. The qualifying saw three drivers on top of the timing sheets. Q1 belonged to Muhammad Izzah and Q2 was lead by Bowie Ginting while Teddy Syach made it to the top in Q3. As all three were tie on points it was Bowie with the pole position due to a faster time with Syach and Izzah coming in 2nd and 3rd.

TORC Turkish On-road Nationals Rd5 – Report

The fifth and final round of the TORC Turkish On-road Nationals was held at the Bumod Bursa track recently. In the Nitro Touring class it was Mustafa Alp with the TQ and the best chances for the overall title as Alain Sarafyan, another title contender, only qualified in 10th after engine issues. The 45-minute main final was held in rather hot ambient temperatures which led to less power from the engines and also lower traction. TQ Alp was hardly able to hold Halit and Kagan behind and he struggled a lot in the opening stages but once the tyres were getting smaller Mustafa was getting more comfortable with the car, slowly extending his lead.

The inaugural round of the 2017 Arrowmax Cup Singapore Series was held this past weekend at the large East Coast Circuit. In the competitive Formula 21.5T Blinky class, a 13-car grid took the start. At the end of qualifying, it was Joe Hwee who would come out with the TQ, followed by Patrick Ong in 2nd and Michael Siow in 3rd. In the finals, incidents for Patrick at the start of the opening A-main meant that he would finish in 5th, while Allister would storm through the field to take 2nd behind Michael Siow who seized the early initiative with the leg 1 win. In A2, normal service resumed as Patrick took a 4-seconds win over Michael to bring the fight for the overall win onto leg 3. In the final main Patrick would this time face the challenge from team-mate Allister, but he maintained his composure and confidence in his car to take the win by three seconds and with it the overall win for the day. Xpress Execute XQ1 electric touring car kit

Following month of development and the release of several teaser images, Xpress have now officially announced the release of the Execute XQ1 1/10th 4WD electric touring car kit. The car is based on a carbon fibre double deck chassis assembly and features new design 1-piece lower front and rear bulkheads as well as 1-piece bulkhead covers to do away with tweak issues associated with multi-piece designs. Reedy 550-SL4 sensorless brushless motor

Reedy have introduced their new 550-SL4 sensorless brushless motor for 1/10th scale 4WD RTR vehicles. Due to its sensorless 4-pole configuration, the motor operates powerfully, efficiently, and reliably in a variety of vehicles and applications. The 3500kV rating provides plenty of speed with 2S LiPo batteries but installing a 3S LiPo battery for even greater speeds is also possible. A high-strength rotor provides plenty of torque and resists overheating better than 2-pole alternatives. The motor comes pre-wired with flexible silicone wires and 3.5mm bullet connectors to reduce power-robbing resistance and heat. Triple insulated windings, a hardened 5mm steel shaft, and oversized ball bearings that enhance reliability round out the package.
