Spektrum SRS2100 DSMR micro race receiver

Spektrum have introduced the SRS2100 DSMR built-in antenna micro race receiver. Designed to eliminate the usual wire antenna and to offer a less cluttered electronic layout the receiver features an internal antenna that additionally improved the RF performance of the overall package. The receiver delivers a 5.5ms frame rate when coupled with Spektrum’s DSM2 or DSMR transmitters, it is of a 3-channel design and it offers extra protection of a waterproof Reliakote conformal coating that seals its electronics from the elements and other corrosives like nitro methane or motor spray. Measuring 17.6×25.5x25mm the high-voltage compatible receiver weighs in at 5.5g and it is available soon.

Exotek Flite V2 aluminium wing buttons

Exotek have introduced the Flite V2 aluminium wing buttons. Made from 6061 aluminium and coming in a range of colours the buttons are now of a lighter and sleeker design, ideal for both 1/10th buggies and touring cars. A large 16mm diameter securely holds the wing while offering a large surface area for protection from crashes. The buttons use 3mm countersunk screws and they are available as pairs in “Tamiya” light blue, “Associated” blue, “Team Durango” gold, “TLR” gun metal, “HB and Xray” orange as well as “Kyosho” red anodising.

Super Cup Championship Series Fall 2016 Rd2 – Report

The Super Cup recently made its way east to Beachline Raceway located in Cocoa Florida for race 2 of the Fall session. With 234 entries, everyone had another long day of racing but Lance MacDonald kept everything flowing smoothly and so the organisers were able to get two qualifiers and the mains done in about 12 hours. The premiere 2WD Mod Buggy class would have 30 entries and some very exciting lower mains. Daimon Borkowicz would be the top qualifier and go on to win the A-main event. The battle for second, third and fourth would make the A-main that much more exciting with drivers swapping positions throughout the 5-minute main. Paul Wynn would finish up in the two spot after an extremely tight battle with Ryan Eckert. Ryan would finish third just 0.546 behind Paul.

Mibosport Cup Winter Series – Announcement

The 2016/17 season of the popular Mibosport Cup Winter Series will kick off on the weekend of the 29th of October in Hrotovice, host of the opening round of the 2016/17 ETS. Attracting almost 500 drivers in total including the likes of Ronald Völker, Marc Rheinard, Viljami Kutvonen, Elliott Harper, Michal Orlowski, Christopher Krapp, Peter Pinisch and Hupo Hönigl, last year’s series was great success. This year the series is run in the six classes of Touring Car Modified, Stock LRP, Formula, 1/12th scale as well as 2WD and 4WD Buggy. The Touring Modified class will again roll on Volante tyres while the off-road categories will utilise Schumacher rubber. The on-road races will be run on the proven black ETS carpet while the off-road track is laid out with the same carpet as used at the EOS. The big news for the coming season is the presence of EFRA referee Markus Winkler at every race and more information about the series can be found here.

Phil Sleigh teams up with Schumacher

Schumacher have announced the addition of top UK driver, Phil Sleigh to their team. Phil is joining up with the team to race Schumacher 1/10th buggies and also LC Racing micro buggies. Phil will bring a depth of experience to the team being multiple BRCA Micro Champion and BRCA 1/10th buggy National winner. He will be competing at all 1/10th UK Nationals, Mid West Regionals and all Micro Nationals.

Finnish Electric Off-road Nationals Rd4 – Report

The fourth and final round of the Finnish 1/10th Electric Off-road Nationals was held at the Vantaa track. In the 2WD qualifying Joel Valander TQed two rounds to take the overall TQ from Karri Salmela and Joona Haatanen. In the finals Joel was struggling on the drying track which allowed Karri to win the race and the National title. Joona Haatanen came in second thanks to winning the third A-main.

Jörn Neumann takes German 2WD Buggy Championship

The 2WD portion of this year’s German 1/10th Electric Off-road National Championship was held at the AMC Langenfeld track this past weekend. Serpent’s Jörn Neumann took the overall TQ in 2WD Modified Buggy from Yokomo’s Marc Rheinard and Björn Prümper. The triple A-main events brought a similar result with Jörn making a clean sweep to take the overall title while Marc came out fastest in A2 and A3 to grab the runner-up and vice-championship spot from Björn. Christopher Krapp came in fourth from Oliver Speith in fifth.
