Hupo Hönigl double TQs & wins Austrian Buggy opener

Hupo Hönigl double TQs & wins Austrian Buggy opener

The opening round of the Austrian 1/10th Electric Off-road Nationals was held at the MRC Oberaich track, attracting a record entry of drivers. The track is unique in a way that it can be run with both 1/10th and 1/8th scale vehicles without appearing to big or too small for each of them and in recent years it also offered loads of traction but this year the sugaring did not work out, leaving the track glazed and polished yet still very abrasive. Xray’s Hupo Hönigl was able to TQ both the 2WD and 4WD buggy classes and at the end of the day he went home with a double victory although it took him some time in each final to find his rhythm and pace. Behind Hupo, Schumacher’s Peter Pinisch would grab the runner-up spots in 2WD and 4WD with Marcel Rekettye (Yokomo) coming in third in 2WD while Team Associated factory driver Stefan Pfeifhofer rounded out the 4WD podium.

Exotek 22 3.0 LCG aluminium gearbox set

Exotek 22 3.0 LCG aluminium gearbox set

Following a first teaser image Exotek have now released full details on their all-new LCG gearbox set for the TLR 22 3.0 buggy. Centred around an aluminium gearbox with 3-gear setup the concersion let the three transmission gears operate in a straight line for an extra low centre of gravity and a smoother running idler gear. The diff case is machined from 7075 aluminium and the new motor plate is of a vented design to lower the motor temperatures. In addition to the lower centre of gravity the gearbox stiffens up the rear of the chassis as well as the shock tower for improved consistency on high-bite tracks. Using the gearbox requires to drill two extra holes into the chassis although the original gearbox can still be used, allowing for gearbox swaps if conditions call for it. Included in the set comes the black anodised and laser-etched gearbox, the alloy lightweight motor plate, a Delrin diff cover, carbon fibre battery strap with alloy hinge as well as alloy waterfall spacers, the chassis drill template, hardware and full instructions.

JConcepts TLR 22 3.0 titanium front axle

JConcepts TLR 22 3.0 titanium front axle

JConcepts have introduced a titanium front axle set for the TLR 22 3.0 2WD off-road buggy. Designed especially for the 3.0 the user-friendly and lightweight axles are of a single piece design, allowing the use of a traditional 4mm lock-nut instead of the stock screw type design originally used on the 22 platform. Titanium material lowers the weight, increases strength over aluminium and increases the bling factor by 10-fold. This design can easily be installed on the 22 3.0 buggy by using the existing hardware from the TLR kit.
