TLR/Horizon Hobby sweep NDOR NDORance Masters

TLR/Horizon Hobby sweep NDOR NDORance Masters

This past weekend saw the NDOR Notts and Derby Off Road revive a classic race platform, the endurance race NDORance Masters 2016 in support of the Heart Link Children’s Charity. The race took place on the club’s varied and challenging astro track. Saturday had the teams home in their setup and all generally have a good time. Sunday saw the race itself and TLR UK’s three teams set to battle it out, with a number of others including two teams from RC PitBox. Two stick teams from TLR and one steering wheel team were raring to go Sunday morning. After an eventful sprint down the straight to collect engine and pipes, it was straight into the race with engine fitting and running-in part of the race itself. The 6 hours 45 minutes of racing saw all three top TLR cars complete over 500 laps each and reach the end of the race taking home all three steps of the podium with team TLR Horizon 1 taking the win from TLR Horizon 2 and TLR Horizon 3.

Arrma Big Rock 6S 1/8th scale RTR monster truck

Arrma Big Rock 6S 1/8th scale RTR monster truck

Arrma have introduced the Big Rock 6S 1/8th scale ready-to-run monster truck. Featuring a tough twin vertical plate chassis backbone the shaft-driven 4WD vehicle is built to excel both on-road and off-road with the laydown aluminium shock absorbers soaking up even the roughest of terrains. Three all-metal gear differentials help to get the power to the ground with Arrma’s Beast Modes allowing to individually lock up the diffs, resulting in four different drive modes of Blast, Wheelie, Climb and Drift, all accessible on-the-fly by the turn of a transmitter-mounted dial. The BLX200 brushless system is 6S LiPo compatible with the dual battery trays allowing to mount either 2S or 3S hardcase battery packs. The included 2000kv BLX brushless motor propels the truck to speeds of up to 96km/h while the factory-installed metal gear servo and Tactic TTX300 2.4GHZ transmitter keep control of things. The truck finished off by a stealthy looking all-black extended cab truck body and grippy dBoots all-terrain tyres on black chrome wheels.

ECX Barrage 1.9 1/12th 4WD RTR crawler

Horizon Hobby have introduced the ECX Barrage 1.9 1/12th scale 4WD ready-to-run crawler. Smaller than most 1.9″ scalers on the market the Barrage is considered more of a 1/12th scale model than a 1/10th scale rig and it utilises licensed 110mm Falken tyres and it is loaded with features such as a 4WD drive train, multi-link suspension, 370-class high-torque motor, locked differentials, four LED lights, waterproof electronics, and more. Metal ring and pinion gears, oil-filled shock absorbers, and a composite aluminium frame make for a lot of durability even when the going gets tough. The kit is rounded out by a 2.4GHz transmitter, 900mAh NiMH battery and a suitable charger.

JConcepts Fin Reamer bodyshell reamer

Coming from JConcepts is the Fin Reamer for polycarbonate bodyshells and wings. The custom 0 to 14mm reamer design combines a sharp, durable tip with an aluminium handle which is available in blue and black colours. The handle features an ergonomic shape with finned cuts and tear-drop recessed areas to reduce weight and add an important lustre to the design. The reamer tip cover is a moulded plastic component built just for the design and application. The stacked piping on the cover packs a look but also serves as a grip for the on and off process. The handle also has an end cap which includes the JC logo.

RDRP B6 carbon fibre electronic mounting plate

RDRP B6 carbon fibre electronic mounting plate

RDRP have introduced the carbon fibre electronic mounting plate for the Team Associated B6 buggy. The part was designed to be a drop fit for the chassis’ machined pocket behind the steering servo and using it allows to easily remove the speed controller and receiver from the chassis for cleaning and maintenance purposes. It hardly adds any additional weight to the car meaning the buggy’s weight bias remains the same compared to alloy or steel parts. The mounting plate fits both the B6 and B6D and it comes including suitable mounting hardware.
