The 2016 Dragon Stone Asian Nitro Buggy Championships took place in Liaoyang, in north eastern China last weekend. Organised by Scotty Ernst, and with a lot of top international racers attending, joining the regional and national racers, there was a great turnout for this first annual event. The track was located in a beautiful park and all attending racers were bussed in everyday from the official hotel with a police escort. Unfortunately the weather decided to throw a curve ball, with the outer edge of a typhoon providing plenty of rain throughout the week.

The third round of the Czech Nitro Buggy Nationals were held at the Horni Jeleni track. Belgian SCT Cup Rd5 – Report

Belgian SCT Cup Rd5 – Report

Round five of the Belgian SCT Cup was hosted by the MBV Kampenhout club on a slightly modified layout that made the superb astroturf track even better. Once again rain affected the race but thanks to the well-drained track the surfaces dried up quickly, allowing to carry on with the event but some of the qualifiers were mixed up a bit due to the same rounds being held both under wet and dry conditions. This was in particular the case in the opening round of the Pro2 qualification with the last heat running under rainy conditions. Frederic De Conchy (TLR), Martin Vierin (Team Associated) and Stéphane Lecomte (Team Associated) scored the best times in Q1 while the second round saw Géry Ledocq (Kyosho) taking the TQ with a big margin on Laurent Halluin (TeamC) and Tom Pierard (TLR). In the final round, Géry confirmed his overall TQ with another TQ run, ahead of Laurent Halluin and Martin Vierin.

Kyosho reveal more Turbo Scorpion re-re images

Kyosho Taiwan have released first high resolution images of the forthcoming Turbo Scorpion re-release 1/10th 2WD buggy kit. The latest addition to the Legendary Series of 1980’s kits is based off of the standard Scorpion but it features a white colour chassis tub, red body aluminium shock absorbers and larger wheels and tyres that seem to accept modern day 2.2″ tyres. Like the other Legendary Series buggies the kit will also feature updated suspension parts, modern 48 pitch gears and an upgraded transmission with slipper clutch. So far nothing is known about the vintage-looking Le Mans 240  brushless motor shown in the images. It may be included or available as upgrade but all information should become available in time for the release that is expected to happen in November.
