Coming from Techra is their new aluminium on-road car stand. Featuring a minimalistic design the stand is 28mm tall and it sports machined silver fillet edges for a special appearance. Equipped with rubber feet and upper foam strips the car stand offers a secure base for the car during building, maintenance and setup and it is usable with both touring and pan car chassis.

Xray have released a first teaser image for their forthcoming X12’17 1/12th scale pan car. With both the IFMAR Electric On-road World Championships and also the indoor season ahead the car will soon make a first official appearance and we bring you more details as soon as they surface.

Rain has brought a halt to the opening day of qualifying at the Nitro Touring Car World Championships, a decision finally made that no more acton will take place today in Gubbio. Just as the top heat started their engines for Q2 forecast rain arrived just 10-minute too early with the Top 10 seeded drivers not even making it out on to the track. An initial heavy shower was followed by more and heavy rain with thunder & lightning thrown into the mix. The plan now to resume with the third round of qualifying tomorrow and then review track conditions with a view to running Heat 13 of Q2 with Round 4 so as the entire round doesn’t need to scrapped. In Q2, as it stands it was Kyle Branson that holds the fastest time. Running in the second fastest group, the Capricorn driver was quickest from fellow British driver Andy Moore, the pair separated by just 1/1000th of a second. As it stands the overnight TQ is held by Capricorn Dario Balestri who TQ’d the opening qualifier from Simon Kurzbuch and Robert Pietsch.

The fifth round of the MAC Heemstede club race was held on the recently resurfaced MACH track. The new asphalt surface made traction conditions difficult and in the ETS spec Formula class it was Xray driver Jitse Miedema who took the TQ followed by Niels de Zwijger (CRC) with the latter scoring the fastest lap but on the expense of a consistent pace. In the 13.5 Touring class Jitse also took the TQ, followed by Roy Bakker.
Round four of the Malaysia Nationals was held in Batu Kawan, Northern Malaysia. The race was a 1-day event attracting about 80 entries for the Touring Modified, Touring Super Stock 13.5T Boosted, Touring Stock 13.5T Non-Boosted and 1/10th Mini classes. In Touring Modified it was Xray’s Azri Amri who took the day’s win from Wee Yuan (Tamiya) and top qualifier Wong Kok Wai (Awesomatix).
Protoform have released a teaser image of their forthcoming BMR-12 1/12th scale pan car bodyshell. The body, that could be both the follow-up model or addition to the existing AMR-12 or even a replacement for the discontinued TR-12, is expected to fully uncover in time for the 2016 IFMAR Electric On-road World Championships in China later this month. Dario Balestri is the top seed for qualifying at the Nitro Touring Car World Championships in Italy. The Capricorn driver topped today’s controlled practice ranking thanks to setting the fastest times in both the third & fourth rounds with a drivers best two of four rounds determining the qualifying heat order. Topping the final qualifying in a faster time than CP3, most drivers pleased to see an end to practice, Balestri was quickest from Mugen driver Robert Pietsch but in the overall ranking it was the Mugen of CP2 pace setter Takaaki Shimo who would finish up second. Although the final practice would be his worst round as he got a P6, Balestri’s team-mate Luca Redaelli completed the Top 3 ahead of quickest man of the day Dominic Greiner.
