Tim Jansen wins Formula class at Benelux Race

This past weekend the 2016 Benelux Race was held at the MAC de Baanbrekers club in Rucphen, NL. The event saw the running of several electric on-road classes and in Formula 21.5T blinky, run on Ride tyres, Steve managed to take the TQ in the first three rounds of the qualifying while Patrick was on a solid P2 with three runner-up sports. In the final qualifier, run on Sunday morning, Patrick and Steve both opted not to start, allowing Tim Jansen to take the final qualifier and with it the 3 spot on the starting grid.

RC-Mission introduce new T4 & BD7 optionals

Coming from RC-Mission are new optional parts for Xray’s T4 and Yokomo’s BD7 platform. First up are aluminium centre belt pulleys for the T4. Cut from high-quality aluminium the parts improve durability and also drivetrain efficiency while also being light of weight. The parts sport a silver and black anodised surface and they are a direct replacement.

Thilo Tödtmann wins at Central German regionals

A round of the Central German Nitro On-road regionals, the qualifying series for the German Nationals, was held this past weekend at the MC Ettlingen track. In the 1/10th 200mm class Shepherd’s Dirk Wischnewski would take a close TQ from Capricorn driver Thilo Tödtmann while Rene Püpke (Shepherd) completed the top 3 result after the qualifiers. The main final then saw a close fight between Dirk and Thilo with the better end for Thilo as Dirk had to pull out of the race some 5 minutes before the end. Up front Thilo brought home the win some two laps in front of Shepherd’s own Patrick Schäfer while Jannick Namyslo (Xray) rounded out the top 3 result.

South German On-road Championship finale – Report

South German On-road Championship finale – Report

The final round of the South German On-road Championship was held in Singen, host of the German National Championships in a couple of weeks time. In the Touring Modified class, Tim Wahl made a clean sweep to take the TQ while also scoring the fastest lap. Markus Wegmann lined up in second from Florian Fink and Antonios Theofilou.

GQ Race Hong Kong Rd2 – Report

QC Race Hong Kong Rd2 – Report

Round 2 of the GQ Race Hong Kong was hosted the ACO Racing Track. The race was held in several on-road classes including Touring Modified, Touring 13.5T Blinky GT, 13.5T Blinky Racing Truck and also a Carisma RTR 13.5T Blinky Stock class. In the Modified class, that attracted a total of 30 entries, it was Chau Man who took the day’s win from Chi Fung and Ricky Wong in second and third respectively.

Georgiadis doubles at Greek Fanatix Race

The Fanatix Race was recently held at the Fanatix racing track in Greece. The event saw 1/10th Touring Modified, Touring Stock, Formula and Nitro Stock racing and in the Touring Modified class it was the Xray duo of Georgiadis and Papachristos who battled for the overall TQ with the better end for Georgiadis who would ultimately grab the pole position for the finals. Papachristos had to settle for second while Yokomo driver Amaxas rounded out the qualifying top 3.

Coelho wins static A1

Coelho wins static A1

Bruno Coelho took an easy win of a completely static A1 final at the Yokomo Euro Touring Series season finale at the Hudy Arena, with not one pass being executed over the 5-minutes as the 10 cars finished exactly as they qualified.  Top Qualifier Coelho made an early break over Xray team-mate Alexander Hagberg allowing the newly crowned champion to cruise to a 1.3 second victory.  1.9-seconds back from Hagberg,  Awesomatix’s Viljami Kutvonen completed the Top 3 with the Finn having no problems fending off the Yokomo of Ronald Volker.  The only attempted pass of the race came from Yannic Prumper as the VBC driver tried to find a way passed Team Infinity’s Jilles Groskamp but the German couldn’t get it done.

Kutvonen takes final qualifier, Coelho is Top Qualifier

In a bit if a surprise, Awesomatix’s Viljami Kutvonen took the final round of qualifying at the season finale of the Yokomo Euro Touring Series but it is newly crowned champion Bruno Coelho who will start the A-Main at the Hudy Arena from pole.  With only Hagberg with an outside chance of denying Coelho his X TQ of the season by taking the fourth & final qualifier,  Kutvonen caught them all by surprise as he gambled on saving his second set of tyres for the run.  Only a 16-lap run due to the extra hot conditions of the midday run, the Finn outpaced Ronald Volker by just 2/10ths of a second with Hagberg only a further 4/10th off despite both being on used tyres.  With a P4 in Q1, the result puts Kutvonen 3rd on the grid behind the Xrays of Coelho & Hagberg and ahead of Volker & Jilles Groskamp.
