Kunak & Bayer take 2018/19 Mibosport Cup titles

The 2018/19 Mibosport Cup held its season finishing final round last weekend with the series attracting a total of 414 drivers. 229 attended in the off-road classes while the on-road categories drew a total of 185 entries. This season drivers from twelve countries including the Czech Republic, Slovakia, Austria, Germany, Poland, Hungary, Great Britain, Estonia, Netherlands, Italy, Bulgaria and Canada made their way to the traditional location of he Hotel-Sport in Hrotovice. The final round of the season attracted a record entry of 261 racers. The Touring Modified attracted 27 racers to compete at the season finale with Zdenko Kunak taking the overall title thanks to winning four of the five rounds this season. Oliver Havránek finished in 2nd ahead of round 2 winner Matěj Šulc.

Team Associated CR12 3-D-printed optionals

Coming from Team Associated and available through their Shapeways 3-D-printing store are two new optional parts. First up is a battery box that allows the use of shorty-style battery pack for longer run time. The tray also adds additional options for adjustments to weight bias and to mount the part no additional hardware is needed. However it requires modification of the stock aluminium electronics tray. Also new is the servo mount to run the servo in a rearward-position to improve steering geometry through suspension articulation. No additional hardware needed but the part requires modification of stock the aluminium electronics tray. More information on buying can be found here.

Traxxas TRX-4 Sport unassembled kit

Traxxas have introduced their forthcoming TRX-4 Sport kit, the unassembled version of the company’s popular 1/10th 4×4 trail truck.
The new TRX-4 Sport Unassembled Kit lets modellers built the truck of their dreams from the ground up and it includes a range of accessory options such as expedition Rack, snorkel, spare tyre mount, LED-ready grille and tailgate panel. The kit comes as roller sans electronics, allowing to add your choice of power system for transfer a used one from another model. The clear body shell comes pre-cut, meaning less stress when prepping that one of a kind body shell. The truck’s chassis comes equipped with portal design axles for superior ground clearance, threaded GTS shock absorbers, competition-worthy 1.9 trail tyres and steel chassis rails and suspension links. Not included is all running gear such as a 550-class motor, speed controller, high-torque servo, or radio system. The kit will hit stores very soon.

WRC Racing F18.2 shock absorber extension

WRC Racing have introduced a centre shock extension kit for the F18.2 formula car. Machined from aluminium and coming black anodised and including an additional pivot ball the extension allows to attach the shock to the upper servo plate, effectively lengthening the shock for better drivability over bumps and improved on-power traction especially in low-traction conditions. The set does not included the centre shock.

Reedy Touring Car Race of Champions – Announcement

The organisers of the Reedy International Touring Car Race of Champions have announced that Steel City Speedway in Fontana, California will be the new home for the prestigious event following last year’s closure its former location, the Aliso Viejo based Tamiya Raceway. The 2019 edition will take place from the 23rd to 26th of May and due to time constraints and to maintain the world-class nature of the event, total entries are capped at 170 for the Open classes. This year, the Sportsman and Expert spec classes will be powered by 13.5-turn Reedy 540-FT fixed-timing handout motors to even the playing field and reduce costs. The Modified class will remain unchanged, with the winner receiving the honor of competing in the Invitational class in 2020. Full details can be found here and here.

Losi Ford Raptor Baja Rey 1/10th 4×4 RTR truck

Losi have announced the soon release of their new Ford Raptor Baja Rey 1/10th 4WD ready-to-run desert truck. Officially licensed, it comes equipped with a 3S LiPo-compatible Dynamite 3800kV brushless power system, as well as a solid rear axle, independent front suspension, and roll cage with upright shocks, so owners can tear across all types of rocky off-road terrain. They’ll do so with the full-throttle freedom of the AVC technology and just like the full scale Ford Raptor, the on-board traction control allows racers to fly across the desert, parks or parking lots at speeds in excess of 80km/h all while in complete control and completely dialled in. Modellers also get an authentic off-road racing experience with injection moulded details, light bars and two licensed trim schemes. Included with the factory-assembled truck comes the Spektrum DX2E Active radio system for glitch-free control of this beast. The truck is set for a release in April.

Nicolas Bregante wins at Argentinean Off-road Nats Rd1

The opening round of the Argentinean Off-road Nationals was held at the Maipu RC Track in Mendoza last weekend. In the Pro Nitro Buggy class it was Xray’s Nicolas Bregante with the overall TQ and win, leaving behind Agustin Cutini (Mugen) in 2nd whileGianni Lupacciolu (Mugen) completed the podium result in 3rd. Elsewhere Agustin Achaval won the Buggy Open class while Matias Cardin took the overall win in the Buggy Master class.
