Korean company Highest have officially announced the signing of Germany’s Ronald Völker to their team. After using the servos of radio sponsors Sanwa for a pretty long time Ronald already utilised Highest servos in the recent races with the Factory Yokomo driver now making the official move.

Spanish company MD Racing have first images of their forthcoming Formula E bodyshell for 1/10th formula cars available. Adapting the look of the current crop of Formula E electric race cars the body sports partly covered rear wheels and flowing contours. Beside the body there will also be suitable front and rear wings available in the future as well as a complete car kit. Overall the body, which will become available within the next couple of weeks, provides a faster and more stable car especially on high-speed tracks.

The recent South America championships saw Flavio Elias coming out successful in the 1/8th Nitro On-road and 1/8th Nitro GT classes. Sebastian Recio came in 2nd in the 1/8th category while Kazuo Ohara rounded out the podium in 3rd. The GT class podium was completed by Rfaz RC in 2nd and Patricio Concha in 3rd. In the 1/10th 200mm class Rafael Viveiros brought home the win from Joan runner-up Pablo Golobic and 3rd placed Thiago Bezerra.

New from Novarossi comes the BK15SL3 nitro engine for radio controlled bikes. The 2.49cc short stroke engine is of a 3-port design and features a 11.5mm turbo crankshaft, 6.5mm aluminium carburettor and a starter adapter plate from stock. The crankshaft is manufactured with a larger bore intake to increase the mixture flow while the special shape makes for optimised gas flow within the engine.

The third round of this year’s Malaysia National Championship saw Hazriq walking away with a win in the Touring Car Stock class. WK Foong came in 2nd while Sham rounded out the podium in 3rd. With his second win Hazriq now sits on top of the championship ranking.

ARC have announced the signing of Silvio Hachler to their nitro on-road team. The veteran Mugen driver will campaign ARC’s R8.0 1/8th car with his first race to use his new ride being the upcoming ENS event in Aigen, Austria. Silvo has the following to say about the deal:
First of all I want to thank ARC and Asia Racing Team for this great opportunity to drive ARC R8.0. After a very long time driving a Mugen car, it is time for a change. I was already very impressed during building but even more after tests on different tracks. The R8.0 is very fast and easy to drive. Now I’m looking forward to the first race which will be the ENS in Aigen. After that I will attend in many races around the world included coming 2015 IFMAR World Championship in Brazil. GP 15 and GP 16 of the F1ItalianSeries was held for the first time at the track of Gianni Modellismo in Rome. The track is very narrow, with a very long main straight and a huge and fast corner going out on the straight. With the track being made for nitro races the pit lane area was not very comfortable for the electric racers but at the end everyone had good fun which was further helped by the beautiful Italian Summer weather with temperatures of more than 30°C. In the qualifying of GP 15 all 15 drivers made the Q1 session with the 10 fastest drivers proceeding to Q2 to set the best time and go after the pole position. After a very hard battle Cardelli (RedBull) took the pole with a time of 17.856s. In 2nd came Capuano (Mercedes) in front of 3rd placed Magnocavallo (Ferrari), 4th was Manciocchi (Hesketh) and 5th Cutugno (RedBull).

VBC Racing have announced the signing of Danish front runner Soeren Boy Holst to their team. The multiple National and former Tamiya European and World Champion will use the company’s Ghost Evo Carbon touring car kit in his upcoming campaign that starts with the second round of the Danish Championship in mid-June. The former T.O.P. Racing driver has the following to say about the deal:
I would like to say thanks a lot to T.O.P. Racing for the big support in the past four and a half years. Now it’s time for new challenges, and I am very happy to join VBC Racing. The quality of their cars is really high, with lots of nice technical features that makes the cars very competitive, and I can’t wait to try my new ride on the tracks.
