Team Powers Xbooster capacitor module

Team Powers USA introduce the Xbooster capacitor module for the use with 2S LiPo applications. Designed to be run in parallel with the battery, the Xbooster will support the LiPo battery under heavy loads to help with acceleration and runtime. When run in stock classes and with the Team Powers Radon ESC series it is recommend to replace the original triple capacitor board with the module while in modified classes it is beneficial to use both in parallel.

Hupo doubles at 3rd round of Austrian nationals

The 3rd round of the Austrian electric off-road nationals took place at the 1-GMAC Litschau track near the Austrian/Czech Republic border with over 50 drivers in attendance. Practice started on Saturday under relatively cold, windy and dusty conditions meaning the 2WD drivers would prefer running rear motor buggies but as warmer and overall more pleasant weather was predicted for Sunday one or the other driver opted to get used to mid motor cars. 2WD qualifying saw a battle between the two Team C drivers Hupo Hönigl and Martin Kreil who both won 2 of the 4 qualifying rounds. Ultimately Hupo was able to take the overall TQ in front of Martin while Team Associated’s Stefan Pfeifhofer rounded out the top 3 with his mid motor B5M.

Max Power Storm 28T nitro truggy engine

Max Power have a new .28 big block nitro truggy engine available in the form of the Storm 28T. Offering a displacement of 4.66cc the 5-port short stroke engine is designed to offer a good amount of torque to cope with the somewhat heavy trucks. A 14mm turbo-style crankshaft runs in high-quality steel ball bearings and the composite material 9mm slide carburettor can be equipped with different diameter venturi inserts. The package is rounded out by a  tall yet lightweight cooling head that allows for improved engine cooling even with truck bodyshells fitted.

John Watkins wins at Victorian indoor off-road titles

The first ever Victorian indoor off-road carpet state titles where hosted by Melbourne’s newest racing facility, Adrenalin Arena. The weekend started on Saturday with an all-practice day and resumed on Sunday with the finals. In the mains John Watkins, coming from 3rd on the grid, took the win in the opening A-main as TQ Simon Mc Hugh rolled after a tricky jump landing. The 2nd A-main had the leaders coming together in the second lap which again made way for John who was able to cruise to the win in order to take the 2WD class state title.

NVision is the latest brand to introduce a square-type 2S LiPo battery pack. Build from high performance cells that are capable of 100C burst rates, the pack is ideal for all high-power applications. The special design mimics the dimensions of a side-by-side saddle pack battery but the single case does away with the need to use a jumper wire for charging and during use. The hardcase pack is equipped with a single 2mm connector tube for the balancer harness and dual 4mm tubes for the power wires and it is available now.

Trinity introduce the D4 brushless motor

Following much speculation about the follow-up motor of the successful D3.5, Trinity now officially introduce the D4 electric brushless motor. Designed to meet all ROAR specifications the motor is based around a new stator design and a 3-piece heatsink can with an updated endbell for improved bearing alignment and increased airflow for lower operating temperatures. Other features include windings made from certified pure copper wire, grade 5 ball bearings, and new larger silver-plated solder tabs. The motor is 8 grams lighter than the previous D3.5 and available as 2.5T to 9.5T modified and 13.5T and 17.5T ROAR Spec stock motors. The motors should hit stores by the time you read this.

Wicaksono wins at Jakarta regional buggy champs

The 3rd round of the Jakarta Regional Buggy Championship was held at the Graha Raya track in Serpong, West Java. A total of 33 drivers attended the event that saw Adrian Wicaksono taking TQ. At the end of the 45 minute final Adrian maintained the lead and came in 1st followed by John Agus and Jason Nugroho. Faisal Ali and Darmadi Kurniawan completed the top 5 result.
