Pro-Line EB48.2 Phantom bodyshell

Pro-Line EB48.2 Phantom bodyshell

Following the Phantom body for Mugen’s MBX-7 buggy, Pro-Line now also introduce a respective variant for the Tekno RC EB48.2 E-Buggy. Making use of the unique Phantom design, the body sports an edgy cab forward cockpit design and flowing lines that meet in a point in front of the rear shock tower to make for a one of a kind look. An add-on rear fin helps to stabilise the buggy during highspeed runs and once being airborne. As usual the body comes clear and including window masks.

Pro-Line Electron VTR front tyres

Pro-Line Electron VTR front tyres

Pro-Line introduce the new Electron VTR front buggy tyre in 2WD and 4WD specification. The Electron shares close family ties with Pro-Line’s Ion tyre with the iconic dirt grabbing centre tread and futuristic styling.  The Electron features connected tyre tread technology to improve traction and wear on even the most abrasive of indoor track conditions. The square centre pins laid out between the connected tread provide consistent forward and side bite even when the track gets dusty. The tyre will become available in specific 2WD and 4WD front sizes in Pro-Line’s super soft M4 and special MC clay compound.

Ludovic Valtier sweeps French EP off-road champs Rd4

A quality field of 120 drivers competed in round 4 of the French Electric Off-Road Nationals on the grass track of Montigny-le-bretonneux near Paris. This natural grass track was very bumpy and the setup is very important to go fast. In qualifying, Ludovic Valtier (Team Associated) took pole position in 4WD with his Reedy-powered B44.2. Ludovic converted his pole into a clinical victory by securing the win in the first two mains. In 2WD it was much of the same. Ludovic and his B5M secured a solid pole position and converted this into a win with victories in the 1st and 3rd legs after fighting hard with his good friends and team mates Julien Formentin and Armand Lantheaume.

Pro-Line LockDown 1/8th buggy tyre

Pro-Line LockDown 1/8th buggy tyre

The new Pro-Line LockDown is the next generation of tyre tread technology to 1/8 buggy race tyres, according to Pro-Line. The tyre features variable pin spacing between the centre rows of pins providing maximum forward bite without sacrificing wear. Each pair of closely spaced centre treads are completely connected at the base of the pin creating the “LockDown area” and providing the optimal pin flex even in soft compounds. The unique crossing side tread is meant to provide smooth steering and consistent side traction on even the most edgy and hard to drive tracks. The pin size of the LockDown is in-between the Hole Shot 2.0 and the Blockade so you can have performance similar to the Hole Shot 2.0 with tread life rivalling the Blockade. The tyre is available in Pro-Line’s X2 to X4 and M2 to M4 rubber and will later also be available pre-mounted on white Velocity wheels.

Pro-Line MBX-7 Phantom bodyshell

Pro-Line MBX-7 Phantom bodyshell

Seen in teaser form only days ago Pro-Line now officially introduce the Phantom design bodyshell for the Mugen MBX-7 buggy. Making use of the distinctive design elements first seen on the 1/10th buggy Phantom bodies, the 1/8th scale variant again makes use of an aggressively styled cabin and a flowing rear section that culminates in a single point in front of the shock tower. An optional add-on rear fin helps with straight-line stability both at highspeed and while jumping. The body is meant to make a first public appearance at this week’s ROAR Gas Offroad Nationals in Texas. Red RC is on site with a full coverage that can be found by clicking here.

JConcepts B5 series Ti knurl tip front axle

JConcepts B5 series Ti knurl tip front axle

New from JConcepts comes the knurl tip front axle for the Team Associated B5 line of buggies. Eliminating around 38 percent of weight compared to the kit’s steel axle thanks to the design and titanium material used, the JConcepts axle make for less unsprung weight and thus quicker steering response and improved on-track performance. The design also incorporates a knurled axle tip to give the mechanic a grippy place to rest a finger so the front tire doesn’t rotate easily during changes making the process quicker and with less frustration. The design also eliminates screws and other items which are hard to inspect for issues which limit performance and add additional weight.

Jeremy Potter wins E-Buggy at NW Buggy champs

Jeremy Potter wins E-Buggy at NW Buggy champs

This past weekend Tri-Cities RC held the Northwest Buggy Championships in Pasco, Washington. In the 1/8 Electric Buggy class, Tekin team mates Jeremy Potter and Nick Buechler would fight hard in the 3 rounds of qualifying to start 2nd, Potter, and 3rd, Buechler, on the grid for the triple A-Mains. In A1 Potter and Nick would engage in a 3-way battle for the lead, halfway thru the main Potter would pull away from the rest for the A1 win, with Buechler locking down 2nd. In A2, once again Potter and Buechler would jump out front early on where Potter would never look back. Buechler would have a couple rough laps to finish out in 8th. In A3 with Potter on the sidelines already wrapping up the overall, Buechler would jump to the lead by the 2nd corner, but a mechanical issue would end his run where he would have to settle for a 6th overall. Team Associated’s Chris Nealeigh would take the win in A3 and 2nd overall with Brian Munn rounding out the podium in 3rd.
