Vampire Racing introduce their new line of highly flexible “flat-type” sensor wires. Made from tough yet easy-to-bend wire the sensor harnesses make for tidy wiring and the highly flexible design reduces unwanted tweak when used in pan cars. The wires come in seven different length including 50mm, 75mm, 100mm, 125mm, 150mm, 175mm and 200mm, ideal for all applications from 1/8th to 1/12th scale.

Blake Bell wins TC Modified at WCICS Rd7

Round 7 of the non-profit Western Canadian Indoor Championship Series was held in the mountain town of Kamloops, British Columbia. The Thompson Valley R/C Race Club hosted a great event, with 7 WCICS classes, plus F1, and as the second last round of the season, the all-important championship points on the line. In the Awesomatix sponsored Touring Car Modified class all three Western Canadian Provinces were represented. On the top spot, British Columbia’s Awesomatix sponsored Blake Bell took the TQ and win, in second was WCICS President, privateer Josh Carter from Alberta, and in Third from Saskatchewan was Xray sponsored Ryan Rice. For the next race the WCICS travels back across the Mountain passes to the oil country of Calgary, Alberta for the finals on March 28-30th.

Marek Cerny wins Open Stock class at LRP TCM

This weekend’s LRP Touring Car Masters saw Xray’s Marek Cerny taking the win in the 10.5T Open Stock class. Marek Cerny found a blistering pace for the very last and deciding qualifier to take overall TQ in front of Oliver Franke (Awesomatix) and fellow Xray driver Jan Ratheisky in 3rd. Marek then went on to take a convincing win in A1 in front of Jan Ratheisky (Xray). In A2 however, Marek was slow off the line due to motor cogging, which handed the win to Franke. Marek made a strong comeback to win A3 and to take the overall win. Marek benefited from a coming together between Franke and Ratheisky. Oliver Franke finished second while Jan Ratheisky completed the podium. Steffen Leinburger (Awesomatix) and Bernhard Bopp (Yokomo) completed the top 5.

LRP TCM 2014 day 2 – Report

LRP TCM 2014 day 2 – Report

Today the remaining four rounds of qualifying were run at this year’s LRP Touring Car Masters in Rüsselsheim. Yesterday had qualifying victories of Ronald Völker in the Masters Class and Oliver Franke in the 10.5T Open Stock Class. The three LRP-HPI Challenge classes were won by Daniel Anthes (17.5T), Patrick Greinke (Classic) and Nico Müller (Rookie). The Masters class showed real close racing in Q2. Taking a look at the best times there where eight drivers between 19.554s and 19.693s. Ronald Völker started first and took the lead closely followed by a bunch of drivers. Freddy Südhoff and Marc Fischer as the first pursuits had issues during their runs. Also Yannic Prümper, who chased Ronald, crashed mid-race. In the end Ronald Völker drove his LRP powered Yokomo to victory. Second place went to Viljami Kutvonen, third to Alexander Hagberg.

LRP TCM 2014 day 1 – Report

Today the 17th running of the LRP Touring Car Master got started in Rüsselsheim, Germany and LPR sent us the following report. Today, two rounds of free practice, two rounds of timed practice and the initial round of qualifying were on the schedule. Free practice in the Masters class saw Marc Fischer ahead of Yannic Prümper and reigning LRP TCM champion Ronald Völker. In Open Stock, Jan Ratheisky confirmed his pace with a gap of one second over 3 consecutive laps to Oliver Franke in second spot.

Martin Hofer wins at Schumacher Trophy

This past weekend the Team LaGang crew around Alberto Montecchi hosted the Trofeo Schumacher Italy, organized by Lorenzo Bigi in the small town that is Scandiano. Hosting an ETS Event back in 2012 the club has built up an amazing facility featuring one of the biggest carpet tracks you’ll find in europe. Being a two day affair, practice on Saturday already highlighted the level of competition that can be found in this area with a lot of guys doing really fast laptimes. The controlled tyre being preglued Sorex that proved to be a perfect decision since they delivered consistent performance throughout more than 10 runs. Qualifiers saw some tough fights but it was Schumacher’s Martin Hofer who managed to grab TQ honors in the Touring Car Modified category. Winning the first two finals convincingly, he wrapped up the overall win, leaving the remaining steps on the podium fully open for final number 3.

Shepherd Velox V8 EC announced

Shepherd Micro Racing announce the soon release of the Velox V8 EC 1/8th nitro on-road kit, made to honour the European Championship titles of Jilles Groskamp (EC-A) and Daniel Sieber (EC-B) won with the Velox V8 Pro in 2013. The main focus with the EC was to simplify maintenance and setup for an easier to work on car. Therefore the EC  features a quick release front solid axle and one-way thanks to new 2-piece bulkheads, the rear will have updated wishbones for easier anti-roll bar adjustment and the redesigned front bumper comes with integrated body mounts. Also new to the EC kit is an updated main chassis, a redesigned radio plate and new longer arms for the rear body mount. The kit is set for a March/April release.

WTF Windy 3416 cooling fan

Wild Turbo Fan introduce the Windy 3416 cooling fan, a purpose made unit that offers the best possible balance between power, weight and toughness. The dual ball-raced fan measures 34x16mm, it used the same mounting pattern as a standard 30mm unit and sports a special trumpet intake for smoother yet accelerated airflow resulting in improved component cooling. Good for the use with up to 8.4V input the fan consumes around 0.47A while offering around 23,000RPM. The fan weights in at 12.5g and is available very soon.
