Noton win 13.5 boosted TC at New Zealand nats

The 13.5T Boosted Touring Car class at the New Zealand on-road nationals had Awesomatix driver Simon Noton walking away with the TQ and win. Awesomatix teammate Jamie Holmes came in second after qualifying in 4th place but subtle setup tweaks and good driving awarded him with the runner-up spot at the end.

Elangears introduce their Elan R X2 black edition AC/DC multi-chemistry charger. The dual output device offers the same specifications and features as the standard X2 but comes in an all-black aluminium case. It is powered by 100 to 240VAC or 11 to 16VDC, offers up to 10A charge and 7A discharge current and is usable with up to 6S LiPo and 14 cell NiMH battery packs. The charger whose measures 178x151x90mm weights in at 1250g and is available very soon.

Yeah Racing M05 & M06 performance conversion kit

Yeah Racing now have a racing performance conversion kit for the Tamiya M05 and M06 available. Included are many aluminium suspension parts such as lower A-arms, steering knuckles, C-hubs, wheel hubs and many more. Also part of the kit are 50mm oil-filled shock absorbers, stainless steel turnbuckles, hinge pins and a set of rubber tyres. The conversion replaces many of the standard plastic parts of the M05 and M06 for increased performance and durability.

Mario Miranda wins 200mm at Portuguese Nationals Rd1

The first race of the Portuguese nitro on-road nationals took place last weekend. At first it looked like Bruno Coelho would make a clean sweep in the qualifiers and semifinals but he ran into trouble allowing Mario Miranda to take the pole position for the final. In the main Mario and Bruno had a great battle for the lead and while Bruno looked like he would be the winner Mario was able to squeeze by in the final lap to take the win over his Xray teammate.

Tamiya introduce new F1 wheel sets

Tamiya expands its F1 wheel product line with these new silver, gold and white wheels. These wheels complement the existing black wheels already available for Tamiya’s line-up of modern F1 cars such as the TRF101, F104 and F104 V.2. They will also work on many of the F1 chassis on the market that have patterned their design around the Tamiya wheel specification. The non-ribbed wheels are designed to fit the popular Pit-Shimizu rubber tyre as well as foam tyres. The ribbed wheels are designed to fit Tamiya’s proprietary rubber tyre as well as the Pardus tyres.

Core RC now have a new servo saver kit for 1/12th scale cars and SupaStox GT12 chassis available. Included are S1 composite material pieces to reinforce the steering lever and to make for a more precise steering feel. Included is also a 3mm drill bit for enlarging the pre-drilled holes for 3mm ball stud fitment. The kit is available for Sanwa/KO and Futaba servos.

Vässmar & Nilsson win at Swedish nationals

Last weekend the Swedish electric on-road Nationals was held in the town of Växjö, in the south central part of Sweden. The race was run in 1/10 Touring Modified and 1/12th scale Modified on a pretty challenging track with some tight 180 degree corners and tricky chicanes. In 1/10 TC most of Sweden’s fast drivers were in attendance. The qualifiers got underway on Saturday after a whole day of free practice on Friday with three out of five rounds to count. In Q1 Magnus Vässmar took the round in front of Niclas Nilsson and Markus Hellquist. Q2 had Niclas taking the round in front of Markus. Q3 was a blueprint of Q1 with the order being Magnus, Niclas and Markus. Q4 went to Niclas with Magnus in 2nd, so for the final round Magnus and Niclas had 2 TQs each. Q5 was run on Sunday morning and some bad driving from Niclas destroyed his chances to take the desired pole position letting Magnus taking the round in front of Markus and Daniel Carlsson securing Magnus the overall TQ.
