Shepherd premium driveshaft grease

Shepherd premium driveshaft grease

Shepherd Micro Racing extend their line of chemicals and lubricants with the addition of their new premium driveshaft grease. Based on complex lithium-calcium thickener the lube will greatly reduce the wear of driveshaft pins and outdrives even with only a thin coat of the grease applied. The lubricant comes in a handy 6g container with screw on cap and also works in many other metal-on-metal applications.

Updated Xray X10 World GT pan car coming soon

Updated Xray X10 World GT pan car coming soon

Xray have released a teaser image for their forthcoming (updated) 2015 X10 World GT pan car kit. The current X10 Link, with its slotted and relatively wide main chassis, was designed around the use of NiMH cells so our guess is that the 2014 Spec car will at least see a plain chassis, possibly designed around the use of shorty or 1S LiPo packs with a focus on an in-line mounted speed controller. With the above being purely speculation all we can do is to sit and wait until Xray makes an official announcement with images and definite features and specifications.

Yokomo GT500R ver.2 1/12th kit

Yokomo GT500R ver.2 1/12th kit

Yokomo introduce the new GT500R ver.2, an upgrade to the popular GT500R kit. The latest version comes with front and rear friction dampers installed, lowering the centre of gravity while scrubbing some weight at the same time, leading to easier driving and enhanced performance. Also a high-capacity “X” shock has been installed as the rear pitching damper to improve rear traction, allowing higher cornering speeds. Other standard features include a ball differential and optional aluminium parts to make for more aggressive setups on high-grip surfaces while retaining good low-grip drivability. The kit is available in a standard graphite version or as silver surface graphite edition, both kits will become available by early July.

The three where also the only ones to score a 20 laps run. The first of the two finals was won by Reinder Wilms because Tobias made a huge mistake in the last corner. Dario Balestri & Luca Radaelli win at Capricorn Trophy

Dario Balestri & Luca Radaelli win at Capricorn Trophy

The Capricorn Trophy was held in Melzo last weekend with over 60 entries in the nitro 1/8th and 1/10th 200mm class. The race was also the warm-up for the 2nd round of the Italian championships and saw Dario Balestri (Capricorn/XRD) taking the TQ from Alberto Picco (Mugen/Picco) in the 1/8th class, both being the only drivers to make 5 minute runs without refueling. In the 200mm class Dino Giacalone (Capricorn/XRD) took TQ from 2nd place driver Luca Radaelli (Xray/Novarossi) and Dario Basaglia (Capricorn/XRD). In the 40 minute final Dario conserved his performance and took a never defeated win from Alberto Picco. Elsewhere in the 200mm class Dino Giacalone lead the final for around 10 minutes until a mistake cost him the lead. Luca Radaelli took advantage of the situation and brought home the win. Massimiliano Mercanti (Serpent/TOP)completed the podium in 3rd position.

Moore & Price win at BRCA TC Rd3

Moore & Price win at BRCA TC Rd3

Stafford was the host to round three of the BRCA Touring Car series this past weekend which attracted all the top drivers from across the UK to do battle. Drivers were greeted by clear blue skies and sunshine upon arrival to the circuit and the action soon got underway on the track. In the Super Touring class it was HB/HPI Racing’s Andy Moore who got off to the best start by securing TQ in round one. Olly Jefferies with his LRP-powered Xray T4’14 then went on to TQ round two. With bad weather the talk amongst many drivers these suspicions came true in round three of qualification, when the heavens opened up and completely soaked the Stafford track. Again it was Olly who took round three TQ with a great drive in the wet. The final two rounds of qualifying on Sunday was Chris Grainger’s turn to take TQ runs with his Schumacher Mi5 Evo. With Chris deciding to use up his last set of tyres in round five he was able to secure first on the grid by beating Olly Jefferies fastest qualifying time.
