Alexander Hagberg doubles at Xray Challenge Korea

The 2014 edition of the Xray Challenge Korea was held at the Kirina circuit, one hour away from the capital of Seoul. Drivers joined the race in three different classes and hot weather conditions on Sunday helped making the race a successful one. The Kirina circuit is of medium size, but challenging in both nitro and electric classes. Xray’s Alexander Hagberg was able to TQ the electric touring car class in front of Mr. Ahn in 2nd and Mr. Ryan Lee in 3rd place. Alex went on to win the triple A-finals as well as setting a new track record of 16.0 seconds.

HotRace Cup Rome – Announcement

July 18th to 20th sees the HotRace Cup run in Rome on a track halfway between the centre of the city and the sea. International drivers like Eric Dankel and Alexander Hagberg are already confirmed for the race that will be run in touring car modified and 13.5T stock classes. More information about the event, that will also see a Saturday night beach party, can be found on the official event site and on Facebook.

Makra Racing Xray T3/T4 aluminium fan mount

Marka Racing introduce this aluminium cooling fan mount for the Xray T3 and T4. Designed in co-operation with the Italian driver Marco Puleo, the bracket is made from Ergal 7075 aluminium and designed to be installed both in front or behind the motor using only one screw, thus avoiding any kind of interference with the chassis’ flexibility. The mount accepts virtually all common 25mm, 30mm, 35mm and 40mm fans.

WRC STX aluminium centre pulley flange

WRC introduce this aluminium centre pulley flange for the STX touring car. Machined from 7075 aluminium and coming with a hard-anodised finish the part is designed for the use with 20T pulleys and it makes for a more reliable and compact pulley assembly.

Setup Station iOS & Android app

Xray’s Alexander Hagberg announce the release of his smartphone application Setup Station. Targeting racers of all levels the app helps to understand car setup and setup changes. Aside from (touring car) car setup Alex also talks about speed controller settings, driving and other aspects. The application is available for iOS and Android devices and can be downloaded here (App Store) or here (Google play).

Serpent introduce this aluminium chassis stiffener for the Eryx 3.0 touring car. Machined from high qualify material and coming grey anodised, the part includes an assortment of hardware to allow for several flex settings of the car’s aluminium chassis.

Hot Bodies TCXX conversion kit

Available now from Hot Bodies is a conversion kit for the TCXX electric touring car. Featuring all-new upgrades and parts to bring the TCXX fully up-to-date with the latest racing tech for touring car racers, included in the set is a new V2 2.25mm main chassis with fewer holes and full thickness motor mounting area for more consistent flex, a new V2 motor mount to bring the motor closer to the centre and a 1-piece servo mount adds equal left-to-right handling. Other parts include DCJ V2 dual joint front driveshafts, a big bore shock absorber set and new low-profile front and rear shock towers.

Nejc Mihelic wins at Serpent Challenge Slovenia

The Serpent Challenge Slovenia was held last weekend in Tolmin, Slovenia in dry weather conditions although the weather forecast predicted rain interruptions. The race was held in 1/10th electric, 1/10th touring, 1/8th track, 1/8th, GT/Rally and 1/5th scale classes with a factory driver supported workshop on Saturday while Serpent designer Michael Salven was present for additional support. In the premier class of 1/8th on-road Jernej Vuga tookthe TQ in front of Nejc Mihelic and Michael Salven. Salven then took a time-out before the start allowing Mihelic and Vuga to run off. Vuga was able to hold a lead of a few seconds in front of Mihelic, but Mihelic managed to slowly catch on him. After 20 minutes Vuga ran into engines problems allowing Mihelic to take control of the race and to take the win in front of Salven and Vuga, who completed the podium.
