The Hobbywing Asia Open 2013 will be held on December 14th and 15th in Guangzhou, China. The event will be run in Modified and Stock Boosted 13.5T classes and will see the attendance of the three former Touring Car World Champions Atsushi Hara, Andy Moore and Surikarn C. Capricorn big bore touring car shocks

Capricorn have new big bore shock absorbers for electric touring cars available. A standard item on the new LAB TE02 car the shocks feature a new quadri-ring seal, thin shock shafts and a new bushing fix system to let the dampers work smoother and more efficiently. Included with the shocks come also 50 shore and 60 shore volume compensator membranes and an assortment of shock pistons with 1mm and 1.1mm holes.

Muchmore Tweak Master

Muchmore introduce the Tweak Master tool for easy and accurate chassis “de-tweaking”. The tool compromises of a thick tweak plate and a carbon fibre rod and comes in a handy bag for easy storage and transportation. To un-tweak the chassis simply place it on the tweak plate, loosen the top deck screws, press the chassis down by pushing the carbon rod against the shock towers and tighten the top deck screws again. The tool is meant to work with nearly all of today’s 1/10th electric touring car chassis.

KO Propo RSx one10 servo & KR-413FH receiver

KO Propo introduce the RSx one10 Response low-profile servo and the KR-413FH receiver. First up is the servo, the low-profile item is designed for the use in electric or nitro 1/10th vehicles, it is 7.4V compatible and offers a speed of 0.09s and a torque of 9.0kg-cm at 7.4V input. It is housed in an aluminium and plastic heatsink case, features dual ball bearings, hardened gear pins, an aluminium and plastic gear set, as well as a coreless motor and a gold-plated connector. The KR-413FH FHSS 4-channel receiver incorporates a new CPU that allows for increased processing speeds. With the increase in speed allows for quicker corrections and smoother transitions. When used with the latest EX-1 FHSS system, full benefit of a more linear and quicker response is achieved. The receiver measures 28×18.3×18.5mm, is 7.4V compatible and weights 7.5g.

Steve Soon wins TC Stock at WCICS Rd2

The second round of the Western Canadian Indoor Championship Series was held in the Capital city of Edmonton, Alberta. A record turnout for this race was just the beginning, and the entire weekend was a huge success. Racers from across Western Canada battled it out in 7 different classes. In the Team Great Hobbies sponsored Touring Car Stock class, after 4 rounds of qualifying, Steve Soon (Serpent) set TQ ahead of Austin Hauch (Xray). Steve kept it fast and clean and in a similar Vettel style performance, claimed pole, fastest lap and win. Ryan Rice (Xray) moved up to second, and Austin held on for 3rd. It was a great weekend, and a big thanks to NASCAR, and all the class sponsors: Great Hobbies, Awesomatix, Novak, Orca, Orion, UPS & Best Western Hotels. New from Avid come diff thrust bearings for Kyosho, Yokomo and Tamiya kits. Available as standard steel, tungsten carbide and ceramic ball variant the caged bearings are ideal to upgrade any car that makes use of 6mm thrust washers and 2.6mm diff screws. The steel ball variant is the cheapest of the three offering good performance and an economical price while the tungsten carbide bearing has more true in size balls for a smoother and longer lasting bearing. Last but not least comes the ceramic ball offering with the hardest material used for the smoothest possible diff feeling but also the most narrow window of adjustment.

Fernando Gordinho doubles at Carpet Duel Challenge

This past weekend One Lug Raceway located in Albertville Alabama hosted its second annual Carpet Duel Challenge. Drivers from all over the South East United States attended this Duel. The biggest class by far was the ever growing Spec 17.5 TC class. Setting the early TQ in round 1 was Team USA ARC/Viper driver Fernando Gordinho. Fernando not only managed to TQ every round of qualifying in both TC and 1/12 but continued to drive his Trinity/Viper powered vehicles to both A-main podiums in both classes.

Craig Xavier wins World GT at IIC

Craig Xavier wins World GT at IIC

SpeedMerchant driver Craig Xavier TQ’d and won the Wold GT class at the 2013 Las Vegas International Indoor Championships. After taking pole position Craig went on to win the World GT A-Main wire to wire while lapping the field all the way up to 3rd place. Craig was joined in the A-Main by team mate Dave Berger who finished 6th with his Protoform Gianna GT clad SpeedMerchant World GT 3hree.
