VBC Racing Wildfire D06 – first images

Following a teaser last week VBC Racing now released first pre-production images of their forthcoming Wildfire D06 electric touring car. The kit heavily differs from the current Wildfire and will feature some important “2013” gizmos such as a new slimmer lower chassis plate, new low-profile shocks and shock towers, redesigned anti-roll bars and bulkheads along updated suspension components. According to VBC there are still some parts that need finishing touches such as the floating servo mount and some other areas. It is understood that the kit will be ready to hit the stores in August.

Designed for the CTXW tyre warmer is this 3S 4600mAh LiPo battery pack from Much More Racing. The internal power source allows the use of the tyre warmer unit without mains power making it possible to heat the tyres while waiting in the pits or the starting grid. The softcase pack comes build from 40C cells and is pre-wired with a Tamiya-style plug.

Cao Zi An wins KHRC Racing Club Grand Opening Race

Last weekend the KHRC Racing Club, located in Hangzhou, China, hosted the opening race on their high-grip asphalt track and it was T.O.P. Racing driver Cao Zi An who set the fastest qualifying times in the touring sport class. He was able to maintain his speed through to the finals going on to win the class from pole position.

These Tamiya aluminium servo horns are ideal to replace the kit’s standard plastic items with better looking and more durable ones. Available as Sanwa/KO and Tamiya/Futaba compatible variant the parts are CNC-machined and come blue anodised to match with the remainder of the company’s options. The levers are of a clamp-type design for added security and offer a pre-treaded hole for the steering linkage ball stud.

KM H-K1 Meen Version front anti-roll bar

KM Racing introduce this ball-raced front wire anti-roll bar for the H-K1 Meen Version 200mm nitro on-road car. Included in the set, that must be used with the MV aluminium front bulkhead, are a 2.3mm anti-roll bar wire, ball bearings, aluminium collars and pivot balls as well as all needed linkages and mounting hardware.

Schumacher introduce the Type F body shell for the GT12 SupaStox cars. The body resembles a well known Italian sports car, comes including window masks and wing mounting hardware and incorporates pre-formed dimples to make for easy mounting on the SupaStox chassis.

Minituerkas RC Opening Championship Rd6 – Report

Last weekend saw the final round of the Minituerkas RC Opening Championship 2013. Minituerkas RC’s track is located in the National Stadium in the capital of Chile, Santiago. In the early morning the weather was cloudy but the track temperature ideal and the drivers were anxious to race on this final stage of the championship in the three racing categories of the club, 1/10th electric touring 8.5T, 1/10th 200mm nitro and 1/8th GT. After a hard time in qualifying Tomás Ramirez TQ’d the 8.5T class, Paolo Tamburini grabbed the top spot in 200mm nitro and Fernando Fernandez pulled the fastest 1/8th GT time.

Keith Chui wins 13.5T at AOC

The first ever Australian AOC Race saw close to 200 entries and was one of the biggest races in Australia for a long time. On-road meetings in Australia are normally run on asphalt outdoors, the AOC Race was a different affair as it was held indoors on Carpet, a difficult task with no practice or preparation on the surface for many home drivers. In 13.5T touring cars Keith Chui was on fire from the first practice run, setting lap times that were as quick as the Modified cars, after qualifying was finished Keith was on TQ after a super strong 4th round Qualifying run, all eyes were on him this weekend. Xray team mate Corey Broadstock was also looking strong with consistent runs through qualifying eventually starting 5th off the grid for the finals. At the end Keith was able to conserve his performance by winning the class in front of Corey Broadstock and Justin Vergunst.
