Ielasi heads qualifying at Swiss GP

Lostallo track

This weekend sees the Swiss GP take place at the ultra fast and very large Lostallo track. This race is seen as a warm up for this years Euro A championships that take place this summer on the same track and so this event has attracted a lot of top names to the event to help fine tune their cars for this event. Qualifying took place today and it was Kyosho racer Danielle Ielasi that holds the top spot with another Kyosho racer Francesco Tironi in 2nd. Michael Salven, racing for Serpent, is next up in 3rd while Mugen racer Alberto Picco ends the day in 4th, the top 7 drivers covered by only 3 seconds.

Ciccarello & D’Agnolo win the 2007 Canadian Challenge

Ciccarello & D'Agnolo win Canadian Challenge

Calandra Racing Concepts are reporting on their site about their teams latest wins at the 2007 Canadian Challenge race. Paul Ciccarello, who reecntly won the Fastcats race in January, showed great pace once more to take the 19T race win, driving his CRC Carpet Knife Gen-X. In the stock class it was oval specialist Pete D’Agnolo that took the Stock class TQ and race win, proving that he is pretty quick on road courses too.

Hubert Honigl wins Rd1 Austrian Nats

Xray are reporting on their site from the first round of the Austrian nationals held last weekend at MRC Eruhwirth. The event catered for both the expert and sport class with the expert class being dominated by NT1 driver Manuel Huber until a problem dropped him back to 2nd gifting Mugen driver Hubert Honigl the win, with Serpent driver Christian Scheidl in 3rd. In the sport class it was NT1 racer Martin Pittner that took the win ahead of Harald Hofer and Julian Schober in 2nd and 3rd respectively.

Kelsall takes the 200mm win in Rd2

Kelsall takes the 200mm win in Rd2

Last weekend it was the turn of the 200mm boys to race at the Mendip track after the 1/8th scale racers had their turn 2 weeks previous. The race saw a close battle between Kyosho racer Ben Kelsall and this months Spanish EFRA GP winner Darren Johnson, racing for Team Magic. In qualifying it was Darren that claimed the pole position spot, 4 seconds in front of Kelsall with Mugen racer Gareth Bell in 3rd, with the top 16 positions covered by 1 lap. In the race it was again a battle between the top 2 with a mistake from Kelsall while passing a back marker allowing Darren into lead which he held until his car stalled at his final fuel stop which allowed Ben through for the win with Johnson 1 second back in 2nd and closing, while Steve Brown rounded off the top 3.

Atomic RC options for Kyosho V-One RRR

More stuff from the guys at Atomic RC, this time its some optional parts for the Kyosho V-One RRR touring car. They have created a new rear carbon shock tower with lots of shock mounting holes which works together with this new rear body support bracket to increase overall strength to this area. Also released by Atomic RC was a new carbon brake lever system and a new receiver protector box.

Kimbrow & Thomas win Mugen Grand Prix

Last weekend in Las Vegas Nevada, the Silver Bowl Raceway played host to the 2007 Mugen Grand Prix. As this race was seen as a warm up for the 1/8th scale ROAR Gas Nationals that will be held there later in the year, a lot of people entered the race to get some extra track time before the event. In the 1/8th scale class it was Kevin Jelich that TQ’d ahead of Mike Swauger and Chris Verano in 2nd and 3rd, while in the 60 minute A-main Swauger and Jelich both ran into trouble allowing Kyosho racer, and Paris Memorial race winner, Scott Kimbrow to take a clear win, 3 laps ahead of Garen Hagobian in 2nd and Chris Verano 2 laps further back in 3rd.

In the 1/10th scale class it was Ron Atomic that took the TQ spot ahead of Mike Swauger with Xray racer Barry Baker in 3rd. In the race, which saw Swauger not take the start, it was Mugen racer Brian Thomas that took the win ahead of Kyosho racer Jimmy Deprez 1 lap back in 2nd while OFNA racer Jeffrey Lin took the final podium step in 3rd.

Bart Wubben wins Rd1 of Dutch EP Nats

Rd1 of Dutch EP Nats

Xray are reporting on their site about the first round of the Dutch EP National championships that took place last weekend on the famous MACH circuit in Heemstede, near Amsterdam. With Jilles Groskamp in Slovakia preparting for this weekends LRP Masters, it left the door open to reigning Dutch Champion Bart Wubben to shine which he did by taking the TQ spot. In the race Bart was once more able to show his skills by taking the win for Xray ahead of Kyosho racer Stefan Jansen in 2nd with Vasco Christiaanse taking 3rd with his Schumacher.

Sebastian Wartelle wins Rd1 of 2007 Belgian 200mm Nationals

Rd1 of 2007 Belgian 200mm Nationals

Last weekend saw the first round of the Belgian 200mm Nationals take place at the Roeselare track in Belgium, hosts of this years Euro B’s for 1/10th scale. The pace setter was French man Sebastian Wartelle driving for Kyosho who claimed pole position for the event ahead of Serpent driver Steven Cuypers in 2nd and Jerome Renaux in 3rd. In the race it was pretty much the same story with Wartelle, who also competes in the French Nationals, taking the win by a lap from Cuypers in 2nd, with Renaux finishing in 3rd 2 laps further back.
