The 2009 ROAR Electric Carpet Nationals took place last week at the Gate in Cleveland Ohio and the race attracted 284 entrants. In the blue ribboned Modified classes it was Paul Lemieux that took the win from pole position with his Trinity powered Xray ahead of young Associated racer Keven Herbert in 2nd and Josh Cyrul, driving the self designed TOP Racing Photon, in 3rd spot. In 1/12th Modified it was Associated racer Mike Blackstock that won, in a close battle with CEFX designer Josh Cyrul who ended the day in 2nd, while Serpent racer Paul Ciccarello took 3rd spot….

…Orion Race Spec 3800 LiPo, a KO Propo PS-2367 connected to a Futaba R603FS receiver had the task of throwing the T2R Pro into the corners. Body-wise we went for the new Proline LTC-R which was painted by Kai of www.ok-gfx.com. Track test The track test was, well, a boring affair. This may sound harsh, but it’s the truth. In combination with Take-Off CS-27R tyres the T2R was a pleasure to drive. The rear of the car was nailed to the ground, the front only showed a slight but very controllable push mid-corner. …Saskatchewan took home second, and Dale Ruptash followed up in third. …Spec speedo came into play. This time we soldered a relatively mild Team Orion 6.5T motor to it. Steering duties are taken care of by a JR/Graupner DS3781 servo together with a Futaba R604FS receiver. Power came from Orcan VTEC 4600 cells, traction and site bite was provided by Jaco purple/lilac tryes up front and pinks at the rear. Body-wise we opted for Hot Bodies delicious C-12 Mark III that promises high downforce while remaining a low-drag body. …KO Propo together with a Vortex 2008 Race 6.5T brushless motor and the aforementioned Team Orion Race Spec 3800 LiPo. Steering duties are taken of by a KO Propo DPS-2367 servo connected to a Sanwa RX411DS receiver. On top we fitted a Protoform Mazda Speed 6 body, once more painted by Chris of www.gingapaint.com. Track test For the track test we went to the permanent indoor track of the RCCG Neu Wulmstorf near Hamburg.
