RC-Lemans Series Rd1 – Report

The opening round of the 2020 RC-Lemans Series was hosted by the MCC Rhein Ahr track in Germany last weekend. Due to the ongoing Coronavirus pandemic the event was a maiden one this year for many drivers and thus Saturday’s practice was extensively used to get in the first runs of the season. Both the club and the drivers swiftly adapted to the new measures that had to be taken to guarantee everyone’s safety and things really worked out great from the get go. Sunday kicked off less smoothly however as overnight rain forced the organisers to delay the start of the race for about an hour. When things finally started off and in the fast LMP1 Modified class, it was Tim Altmann who set the pace in the opening qualifier. He took the round with a lap margin from last year’s vice champion, Tobias Weist and his brother Kai Altmann.

Infinity IF14-2 graphite front body post support

Coming from Creation Model and made for the Infinity IF-14-2 touring car is a new graphite front body post support. The bumper brace improves the rigidity of the bumper and body post assembly, increasing stability of the front section at high speeds. Made from lightweight and highly rigid carbon fibre, the brace’s surface is also specially embossed to achieve a stylish loog which includes the Infinity logo.

Danish DASU IC Track Nationals Rd1 – Report

The opening round of the Danish DASU IC Track Nationals was hosted by the Hillerod RC Racing club last weekend in 1/8th Nitro, 1/10th Nitro, 1/8th GTe and 1/5th scale classes. 1/8th IC Track would see Anders Lind (Xray) taking the overall TQ and he also came out on top after the 30-minute A-main event, leaving behind Marcus Christian Nordberg in 2nd and Morten Skov Nielsen (Xray) in 3rd.

Pancar-B 8cbe 1/8th 4WD electric stock pan car

Pancar-B from Italy have released first images of their forthcoming all-new 8cbe 1/8th scale 4WD electric stock pan car kit. The car utilises a simple, lightweight, no-fuzz design that allows to go fast on the track without breaking the bank. The car was developed for the use with standard 1/8th scale electric brushless motors and speed controllers as well as two 2S standard-size LiPo battery packs. The newly-founded brand is currently also working on a GT12 1/12th scale kit and we bring you more information on both as they surface.

ARC R12 17mm bulkhead alignment block

ARC have introduced their new 17mm bulkhead alignment block for the use with the R12 touring car. The block will help to build perfectly straight front and rear bulkhead assemblies which will eliminate unwanted drivetrain friction as it ensures perfectly aligned axles and bearings while reducing chassis tweak at the same time. The block is machined from aluminium, it comes black anodised and included in the set are two steel pins that hold the bulkhead halves in place during building.

ARC R12 1.2mm front anti-roll bar

Coming from ARC and made for the R12 touring car is a thin 1.2mm anti-roll bar that is best used as a front swaybar. The thinner wire will increase chassis rolling, increasing steering especially in lower grip conditions. The anti-roll bar is made of high-quality spring steel and it comes with laser-engraved markings for easy identification.

Fenix 235mm graphite gear diff rear axle

Fenix have introduced their new graphite 235mm rear axle for the use with the company’s popular gear differential. The ultra lightweight part weighs in at only 6g compared to the 24g of the titanium shaft, making for less overall weight and shifting the chassis weight distribution more towards the front end. In addition the axle is super true which helps with overall performance.

JConcepts aluminium 18mm clamping servo arm

JConcepts have announced the release of their new 18mm aluminium clamping servo arm. One of the critical points of racing comes from the steering servo and proper servo horn. The horn transfers all the torque from the servo to the steering bell cranks and this piece needs to be created with precision and durability. The JConcepts 18mm servo horn created for both 23T and 25T count has all the geometry necessary as a vast assortment of vehicles. The broad base of the horn tapers to the connection area where the steering takes place. The boss on top surrounds the ball end and provides a hefty surface for steering direction. Small ribs have been added on the sides to help strengthen the unit in a twisting fashion and a deep pocket hides the 3mm standard mounting screw. The entire horn has been retouched with chamfer highlight edging and laser etched with JC and the tooth count for high-end looks and authenticity.
