Simon Kurzbuch wins final round in Switzerland

The last round of the Swiss Championship took place last weekend in Langenthal in the north of Switzerland. On Friday the track was already very crowded and the organizer prepared the asphalt with 75 liter of CocaCola to improve the grip. Nearly all expert drivers attended this last event, among them also Shepherd driver Marco Müller, who secured himself the Swiss title already in the round before. During qualifying it was young Shepherd driver Simon Kurzbuch who took TQ honors. He already showed his talent during the World championship when he reached the 19th position after qualifying. Marco Müller claimed the 2nd place in the starting grid for the final.

Nordman & Ausfelt takes Norwegian National finals

Nordman & Ausfelt takes Norwegian National finals

Last weekend saw the final round of the Norwegian Nationals for 1/10th 2WD and 4WD buggy held in Oslo “Hvervenbukta”, Norway. In 2WD PerErik Nordman showed he was on the pace as he took TQ honors after putting a fast round together in the first round of qualifying. As the track got slower through the day due to the surface being really soft, PerErik’s time proved unbeatable. The finals was extremely exciting as the track conditions made it really hard for the drivers to put a 7 minute run together without mistakes. After plenty of exciting racing in the finals with leaders changing throughout the 7 minute heats, PerErik took the overall win ahead of Ole Steen Karlsen and Kjell-Gunnar Guttormsen.

Stefan Mesker wins back to back Benelux titles

Stefan Mesker wins back to back Benelux titles

Stefan Mesker from the Netherlands has won the Benelux Championship for the second year running. In the final round, held on the grass at Vlijmen, Mesker won leg 1 and finished second to team mate Bruno Heremans in leg 2 to lock up the series win. Heremans went on to win leg 3 to take the race. Going into this final round the Championship was up for grabs between Stefan and his X-6 Squared and Wouter Wynans’ B4.  Stefan had three wins in the first four races, while Wouter had won race 5 & 6 plus a string of second place finishes. Heremans TQ’d easily at Vlijmen, with Wynans 2nd and Mesker 4th, but Stefan asserted himself in leg 1. In leg 2, pole-sitter Heremans led most of the race, and the battle for second between Wouter and Stefan was for the Championship. There were several position changes as they battled back and forth, but in the end Mesker took second and with it a bucket of ice water on his head.

HB Impreza Type B body & Red buggy tire inserts

Hot Bodies have released some new parts including this Subaru Impreza Type B body. This body shell replicates the endurance and touring car racing STI variant that competes in pro and semi-pro on-road racing around the world. The scoop on the hood and the spoiler on the rear window gave the body more stability during track testing, while the smooth front bumper features a large splitter for high downforce and maximum efficiency. Flat side panels provide consistent stability on the track, and the door areas are reinforced to reduce deflection at high speeds. Extra-large wing mount areas transfer all the downforce from the wing to the rear suspension for increased traction. Also new for 1/8th scale buggy are the red foam inserts, which have been extensively tested and are a great all round insert for a wide range of track conditions.
