The small and bumpy Black Hill RC track in Hobro hosted round 2 of the Danish Electric Off-road Nationals recently. In the 2WD qualifiers Jesper Rasmussen was on fire right from the start as he was one of the few drivers that delivered a mistake-free run. In Q2 Jesper took again the TQ without any mistakes in front of M. Kaerup. The opening round of the Danish 1/8th Off-road Nationals was held at the Skanderborg RC club last weekend. On Saturday the Nitro Truggy and E-Buggy classes would be run and it was Pelle Culmsee who grabbed the TQs in both categories. In Nitro Truggy Pelle had a bit of a troublesome A-main as he got taken out by another driver, nevertheless he was able to win the main in style and in front of Daniel Bubel and Daniel Rose. The opening round of the Danish 1/10th Electric Off-road Nationals was held in Kolding recently. The hosting club had an arrangement with a motorsports festival to build a temporary track on the site, ensuring massive impact to the thousands of spectators. It made for a special atmosphere, although in all honesty the electric-powered cars had a hard time competing with the attention the real cars drew and the noise and dust from the full-size vehicles was a bit distracting at times. Skanderborg RC club played host to the 7th and final round of the Danish Electric On-road Nationals this past weekend. Different from the years before Saturday saw three rounds of free practice followed by two rounds of controlled practice and three qualifiers. In the Super Stock class Kevin Nielsen (Xray) lead the way in practice and he also secured four of the five qualifiers, saving tyres in the final round, to take a dominant overall TQ and the pole position for the triple A-mains. Round 2 of the Danish Electric On-road Nationals was recently held in Vejle. The Touring Modified class saw Xray’s Mike Gosvig dominate as he took all three qualifiers and finals to make a clean sweep. Patrick Danielsen (Xray) was not able to keep up with Mike’s speed and finished all races about three to five seconds short of Gosvig’s time, however he was able to take the runner-up spot after the finals in front of Yokomo’s Frederik Hovgaard. The final round of the Danish Electric On-road Championship was held in Odense over the weekend. Saturday’s practice was pretty much washed away and only a handful of drivers tried to tackle the track with prepped cars. Sunday then started off with two round of controlled practice but unfortunately the track was still moist so track activity would be limited. Round 4 of the Danish Electric On-road Nationals was recently held in Tølløse near Copenhagen. Even without preparation the track offered good grip and the mostly sunny weather made for great racing conditions on Saturday. Unfortunately it was raining on Sunday morning and the weather would constantly change between dry and wet periods. The organisers decided to postpone the start by an hour and jump directly into qualifying. Ultimately it was Mike Gosvig with the TQ in the Superstock class from Frederik Broløs in 2nd. The final round of the Danish DRCMU On-road Nationals was held at the ORCM track just outside of Odense. Saturday’s practice was pretty much washed away although in the morning some runs could be completed. Sunday race day and the weather was much better and in the Touring 13.5T class the race for the title was on between Steven Olsen and local driver Niklas Engholm.
